Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more!

Default A Day in the (Gaming) Life [of Bckpckr].

So today I went to the local CD/Game Exchange to trade in a few things which I did not want: A duplicate copy of Medal of Honor: European Assault, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six for the PSone, the edited version of Requiem for a Dream which I accidently picked up a few months ago, and a cardboard-case copy of The Green Mile.

Anyways, long story short, I spent $5 and the trade-in amount I got and walked away with a used N64, a copy of GoldenEye, Star Wars Episode I: Racer, and Mariokart 64. So I'm pretty happy with that.

Just last week I purchased a GameCube for $20 and now have the following games: Sonic Mega Collection, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II, The Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition, Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, and Need For Speed Underground. Your GameCube recommendations will be heartily accepted, at the moment my to-purchase list includes Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Smash Bros. Melee. I'm also thinking about Metroid Prime but never played the original, so I'm not so sure?

I also bought a PS2 back in February with my income tax return, pretty happy with that too. At the moment I've got a collection of maybe fifteen games, favorites being the three Medal of Honors, especially European Assault, GTA: Vice City, God of War, and Tony Hawk 3. Probably will start playing FF10 soon, I'm excited about that.

Now I'm looking at a Game Boy Advance SP because my last one was swiped by a "friend," and possibly a DS at some later time.

I've got no interest in any of the next-generation consoles at the moment, so I'll probably pick up a used original X-Box because I always enjoyed the library of games at friends houses. Would love to play Halo 2 online again, anyways, does Microsoft still support Live for the original console?

Anyways, your thoughts, bitchings, ramblings, etc. quite welcome.

I tried playing halo 2 online a few months back and it took forever and a day to find a game.
But if you've got friends who own it you can quickly set up games with them.

Why does everybody make a big fucking deal about this? The only thing changed is like 5 seconds off of ONE sex scene. It doesn't effect the story at all, yet everybody bitches about it. You're all fucking stupid.

I bet the guy in the shop loled when you got Rainbow Six for the PSone out. I think you should sell all that shit for as much as you can get(It won't be much, but whatever)and use the money to get a PS3 or a 360. Why would you want to sit and play old games on old consoles? If that's what you want get a SNES.

Add Mercenaries (1) to that list to.

Have fun playing GTA:VC. Please don't make a thread about The Driver mission.

I find it kinda funny I find it kinda sad that the (dreams in which...) Gamecube controllers cost more than the Gamecube console?

Maybe he wants to play some good games. Now a days good games are a dime a dozen, but the n64 and psone had some good shit on there. God I regret selling my n64, I want to play some damn Kirby: Crystal Shards.
