Now what?
So, a couple weeks ago one of my friends decided to tell me while a little tipsy that he liked me and visa versa. He wouldn't never tell me that sober, so that is why it was something huge to me. We talked again when he was sober, and he said the same feelings applied, and a day after that he started saying, "I really like you, but I don't want to date anyone right now." Context clues of the rest of the conversation made me believe that this was due to his past relationship about a month ago (they got too serious too fast and she cheated on him), low self-esteem, and fear. I told him I respected that, but I still wanted to be given a chance. He texted me like twice apologizing for being an asshole, and he even texted my best friend to tell her that he was sorry and stuff.
A couple days passed, and I messaged him that I wanted to still be friends for now, and that it shouldn't be weird between us. He has a birthday coming up, and so does another one of our close friends, so I suggested that we should do a dual birthday party for both of them. He hasn't responded, and I kinda feel like maybe he thinks I am pushing myself on him when really I just wanted to do the party again because it was so much fun last year.
How can I hang out with him without making him feel like its a date? I want to still be around, because he didn't necessarily say I didn't have a chance, it's just not right now. How do I fix this? I don't want it to be totally weird.

Re: Now what?
Why don't you ask him if he needs a tampon. I'm being serious, this guy won't make a good boyfriend. You need a man, not a little bitch.

Re: Now what?
For the party, talk to the other close friend about it.

Re: Now what?
Try this...
Tell him to his face that you like him and he knows it but you don't want to scare him off or seem pushy/clingy. Tell him that you'll be waiting when he's ready.
Or get him drunk, have him admit it again and see where that goes!

Sorry man, it was late at night. I couldn't go to sleep because I kept thinking about it. I'm a Journalism major, so thanks for pointing that out.
But see Euda, I don't even know if there is going to be a party. He's totally shut out everything that doesn't involve just him and his close friends who are his roommates. Every relationship he has ever been in, the girl has always cheated on him. How do you convince someone that just because you've been burned twice doesn't mean it's going to happen again. I've never cheated in my life, and I know there's a first time for everything, but I am not going to. He is one of my closest friends, and just because he's shy doesn't mean he doesn't have a backbone. He just is too cautious.

Re: Now what?
Try this, act like a girl, and treat him like a man. This should be obvious. Talk to his friends about it, and you are fucking screwed. Not only is he shy, you are going to embarrass him and damage his ego with his friends. He'll hate you.
This is the best advice you are going to hear. Don't talk to him about it, as men don't like that cause that's even more clingy and pushy than what you've already done. What you want to do is act like a girl. Be attractive, push your boobs out, smile at him, make eye contact purposely, and generally give every single sign to him that you're interested. It's all you can do. Be a girl, make him chase you, want you, and he will pursue your cute little ass. Make him think with his dink, and you'll have him in a short time. However, don't come off as slutty, dress nice and show off your goods, but in a respectable manner. Slutty might remind him of cheating, and you don't want that. Remember, the perfect woman is classy in the streets, and a whore between the sheets. Let him make the decision based on his wants, not what you want. Make him feel secure with you, and he'll be yours forever.
In the short time, act how I said and go about normal routine. Talk to him like nothing happened, and if he tries to apologize, tell him not to feel bad cause it made you feel special that he thinks that way of you. Thank him for making you feel beautiful and wanted. Cause isn't that why you liked it? This way he'll feel like you genuinely appreciate his affection, and he will move in your direction. You aren't manipulating him, I'm just teaching you how to act appropriately around a man, and success will come your way.

Re: Now what?
Also, if you want him to be secure with you being faithful, read my thread titled, " So you want women, and you want them to be faithful". As a journalism major I'm sure you'll understand it quite well, and it should guide you to act in a way that will never bring doubts about your faithfulness to him. Hope all works out well for you.
