heart shaped necklace?
My girlfriend and I plan on having professional pictures of us taken together tomorrow, and then having one of the close up pictures of us engraved on a couple of necklaces (one for me, one for her, duh). Well...I want to have it put on a heart shaped necklace because I'm really in love with her.
The question is...is it wrong for a male to wear a heart-shaped necklace? It just seems kind of feminine to me. What kind of thoughts would run through your head if you saw a guy wearing a heart shaped necklace?

Re: heart shaped necklace?
If I saw a guy wearing a heart necklace I would probably think his girlfriend made him wear it. Some people might make fun of you, but you're the one with the confidence to wear a fruity necklace, not to mention a good relationship, so who cares?
But if you're a wuss, why not get yours as a heart-shaped key chain or something?

Yap. But really, if I was going to wear a necklace, I would rather save up and go "bling" like a rapper. Well, even after searching google a bit, I can't find any "bling" heart pendants.
This is pretty much what you want, but with slightly thicker/wider spaced rings on the chain.

Best bet is to make sure the chain is long enough to drop down past your breasts slightly.

Those are good necklaces. We're planning on having our picture taken with her arms around my neck (sort of like a prom/wedding photo) and then have the image "stained" onto the necklace. Theres a place in my local mall that sells really cheap necklaces and does the staining for you while you are shopping and I guess you just come back in an hour or so. I haven't seen all the necklaces they have but I guess you could say that some of them are semi-ghetto looking.

I suppose I could do that, but why is it necessary? I mean, I guess what I'm trying to say is the necklace is more of a personal thing....know what I mean? I'll probably just wear it under my shirt if the consensus here is that the necklace seems too gay-looking to leave it hanging on the outside. I haven't heard of any other guys doing this sort of thing before.

Well, the length is just so that, as you say, it stays tucked under your shirt properly and doesn't just pop out from leaning forward or running or something. Its for you. It is not something you are wearing to have as a conversation piece. If it were to show, it may create awkwardness depending on the company you are currently in.
There are many designs which may be pulled off, depending on your personality, body size/shape etc. But for the most part, a heart necklace could make for a reason to diss you.
Shirtless walking around your house, with your girl (if you do that sort of thing) or even just flexing in front of a mirror alone, hanging down around just below your breasts will provide the best aesthetic appearance in my opinion.

Well, if you were a male, you'd kick the ass of anyone who had a problem with it.
Fuck, dude. Almost anything I wear involves paederotic gang affiliation. You're bitching about a fucking necklace with a picture of your girlfriend? You've got one, now man the fuck up. 'cause even having to ask, rather than taking your masculinity from anyone who's got a problem with it, is some fucking bitch shit right there.
'n in case you're wondering, in this context, "bitch" does not mean "seldom-used derogatory term for a female," it means "prison slave of the most demeaning sort."
I suggest you either grow a pair and tear out the throat of anyone with a problem, or else resign your membership card of manhood immediately.
Just my opinion. Incidentally, if you read the leaked "police information" on paederotic gang identifiers (which is frequently ludicrously inaccurate), you may have noticed that one of them is a heart shaped necklace. Yes, I have in fact worn one while wearing all pink. No one had a fucking problem with it. Now man the fuck up if you're ever going to take your manhood status from the world in your entire fucking life. It's do or die, boy, and this is the time.

Re: heart shaped necklace?
Fuck me blind...
Guys start wearing pink...And carrying handbags...And now heart shaped necklaces?!?!
Guys everywhere are turning into fucking pussies.
If I were to see you on the street with a heart shaped necklace with a picture of you and your missus engraved into it, I would fucking laugh at you. Seriously. I would.
Get it engraved onto a piece of metal and put it into your wallet if you like but a heart shaped necklace?!?!
That is a bad fucking idea.

Re: heart shaped necklace?
If you like it then there's nothing wrong with it. But if you're going to be self-conscious about it, don't do it. Get something else engraved, it doesn't have to be a heart shape. Maybe see if you can get a REAL heart shape, as that's more "manly". If not, get a ring or something.
I personally wouldn't wear it, and I can't say I'd laugh at some guy I saw wearing one, but I'd probably briefly question his sexuality, at least.
