Salvia. Never again...
So wednesday i went up to the lake to go camping with some people, drinking and smoking weed for the most part... Thursday i dropped a hit of acid. had a good mild trip, kayaked for a few miles and it felt like nothing. When it got dark the beer and booze arrived and we all started to drink, i had a couple of shots, a bowl of dank and a few rips off the bong. And then i asked about salvia, i said "so if we do any salvia can i do it in the tent? that fire worrys me..." and the guy said "no worries, if you get up we will not let you get near it".... so i put a bit of 19x salvia in the bong, couldnt find anything but a zippo and thought for a second "maybe it will get hot enough"... now i think they just thought i had put weed in it, not really announcing it was one mistake i regret making.
Took a large hit of it, held it in, sat the bong down, and gave the kid back his zippo. sensory contact with reality ends here. Soon after taking the hit i was thrown into another world, it is hard to describe but everything looked very strange, there were clouds and water was flowing on the ground, and i was being lead by someone around this circle, and eventually i started trying to fight these beings controlling me and i knocked some stuff over because it seemed like a tv set, eventually the scenery changed to some fucked up game show/intervention set. I thought for a second "have i died?" it seemed sort of like a final judgement, like there was no going back". Eventually i was in front of what looked like stairs. started walking up the stairs and after i took my first step something hit me and reality started to come back....
I didnt know what the fuck just happened, i though i had been set up on some fucked up show. When i started to come back i was surrounded by people just telling me to sit down, with a bunch of worried faces looking at me. Then i noticed a tent that i had fucked up beyond all repair. and someone said "you stepped into the fire".
From what other people were saying i took the hit, got up and quietly started to walk around the chairs, made it to the fire ring, basically slammed my foot down into the fire and then someone tackeled me out of it, and then landed on the tent...
I do beleive this will be my last try with salvia, the trip wasn't anything i couldnt handle but the sheer fact of being able to get up and move around with no clue what the fuck your doing worries me.
oh and had no one taken me out of that fire i might have stood in it for longer. After i came down enough to get my barings, i realized "these several 2nd degree burns dont hurt at all" and i had only had 2 shots so it probably wasn't just generally being numb. remarkably i got very lucky as far as burns go, my little toe and the one next to it have some skin burnt off and blistered the side of my leg touched the iron side of the pit and left another relativly small blister. soles of my feet, a little red but no blistering.
moral of this story, dont do salvia near a fire, any body of water, or anywhere you could possibly kill yourself in the course of 5 minutes...

If you have an extract over x5 normal lighters usually work, but are far from what a torch can really do.

Obviously you didn't handle your trip very well, hmm?
And I have a quick question about your cid trip. In what way was it mild? I can't comprehend a "mild" acid trip, it's full effects or not worth it.

Re: Salvia. Never again...
bics will work, you just have to keep the flame on for the entire time your inhaling. you want it to get as hot as you can, don't just cherry it, burn it all in 1 hit...
ah mild acid trip, i only ended up taking 1, which is less than what i usually take... i got some good head space, went kayaking, all the colors seemed brighter, the ripples in the water were rearranging into patterns, the sky had a sort of purple hue to it... i was going to take 2 but a friend wanted a hit. leaving me 2 for camping, the other one was given to someone there.
and fret, it wasnt that it shook me up mentally, but i just got up and walked into a fire without even knowing it.... it was fucked up, but i expect that from salvia... had i been in a setting minus the camp fire and other destructible things it wouldn't have been that unpleasant. having reality ripped away is something i enjoy, but god i wish i didn't get up and move around on salvia...

I've said it before and i'll say it yet again. Salvia isn't really meant to be recreational and therefore not really meant to be all that fun.
That's what pisses me off about the kidiots on Youtube that have no understanding of it and use it on camera and post it for everyone to see...which in no small way contributed to it becoming illegal in some states. Awareness to it was raised and as with many drugs..ignorance ensued and people that have no knowledge of this drug are beginning to pick away at the legality of it. Before long it'll be illegal everywhere.

i cant see how it isn't already illegal, but more people are probably going to use it once its illegal. forbidden fruit taste the sweetest... of all the illegal shit i did over the past few days, it was the legal one that had me walking into a fire pit...
glad no one filmed it, shit would be on fox news/cnn before i knew it...
my parents don't know about the burns and nothing will be said to them, i went to the store and picked up some first aid supplies, band aids, gauze, tape, iodine, and silvadine (sp?) that i had at home...

How old are you? I'm guessing you're under 18 but if you aren't you could goto the ER and tell them you were horsing around with some friends and got pushed into the campfire. You'd likely get some far better ointment and possibly some Opiates for the pain (depending on the Doc). Hell, you could use that on your 'rents and get them to take you if you're under 18.
I agree that it will be used more widely when it's illegal...but it'll be by alot more idiots that don't understand what it's really for. I would suggest using it again now that you understand it isn't really all about the fun with this drug. It can be an extremely rewarding introspective tool that can shatter you ego and put you back together. Alot can be learned from Lady D.

its relatively new... its being made illegal state by state but no federal laws have been put it place yet...
weed has been around long enough for the goverment to schedule it by federal law...

in 17, id rather my parents not know... and rather not get the people hosting this get together in trouble, they are both adults supplying minors with beer, weed, and salvia.... i was still a bit drunk when it happened and would probably get some trouble for under aged drinking... besides the burns arent very serious, just a bout a couple pencil eraser size 2nd degree burns on my toe and 2 slightly bigger but less serious burns near my ankle... they would give me the same cream and bandage it up... i was given that cream a few years back for when i had a much more serious burn, with no pills provided....
im taking care of the burns, washed the ash and shit off after it happened, took a shower again when i got home, washed with iodine to reduce chance of infection, bandaged it up with sterile bandages that will be changed out when i get back from work...
i knew from past experience what salvia will do to me, this would be like the 5th time i have done it... 3rd time breaking through... but it does deserve respect, its an extremely powerful chemical, and i might do it again in time... but with only 1 or 2 people around me, and not being around anything that could hurt me...
it was kind of funny when i was at the drug store, hadn't showered in 3 days or combed my hair, a had on a bathing suit and a green collared shirt, smoking and drinking for the last few days... i walked up with all the stuff the woman at the register was like "who has the boo boo?" and i just pointed at myself and she was like "what happened, skateboarding?" and i said "nope, stepped into a fire" she really didn't seem that surprised... maybe she didn't know i stepped in without shoes on... or maybe she did, with the way i looked anything i could have said probably wouldn't be a surprise...

Re: Salvia. Never again...
Big ol post :)
It's good that you're taking care of the burn...and I don't blame you for keeping it on the DL considering all that was going on and you being a minor. Just give yourself some time to recoup. and then give it another go when you feel like you're ready. You seem like a smart enough kid and it's good that you've broken through as well. She can teach you quite a bit if you earn it :). I can't say that I've had any particularly "enjoyable" experiences with Lady D but I've definitely had some eye opening ones that I wouldn't trade for the world.

Anyway, I personally consult Salvia Divinorum in rare occurances, only in solitude and for self-exploration purposes. I have two oz of the dried leaf and about seven grams of the extract, with varying potency, which should last me a year or two. It's certainly not for everyone. I feel immensely uncomfortable, but that lack of confort is enjoyable for me (if that makes any sense).

eh, it was more of an issue of my mind being able to handle it... whats going through your mind and what your body do on salvia can be very different. your body is going to go where it wants to, theres no real control or thought of "hey i wonder where that fire pit was, probably shouldnt go near it" when in actuality the fire pit wasn't even in my thoughts".... if the fire pit hadn't been there i would have liked to see where the stairway went, during the trip i thought i had died and my soul was going where it would.... one of the things i was asked after the trip was "did you see god?" and all i could say was "nope, but i was pretty sure i had died... got tackled off the stairway to wherever i was going".... i wouldn't even call it a bad trip, yea it was fucked up beyond all imagination and i accepted that i thought i was dead really easily... which made things easier, there were some moments of fear but being thrown into a whole new world can be scary. had there not been a fire going it wouldn't have been a bad trip, a part of me loves being thrown out of reality into a new place... its interesting, most of my psych experiences have been generally the same for the drug.... same sort of visuals and everything... salvia is very random. the first time doing it i was thrown into a white abyss with only a giant red and white circus tent and even though i moved through the abyss i didn't actually move my body, 2nd time i got another white abyss but this time it was a series of infinitely stretching systems of interconnected triangles made of candy canes and people. 3rd and 4th times didnt break through.... 5th time, fucked up game show, fucked up world, and i thought i had died and reached the final judgment...
