Default Are these shrooms?

I found a bunch of mushrooms while going through a forest yesterday, but I know nothing about shroom hunting. I was hoping someone more experienced could tell from the photo whether they could be or not, and if they could, what the other signs of psilocybe mushrooms are. I know about bruising blue, but that's about it. I want to be absolutely certain before I pick them.

They kinda look like LBM's or little brown mushrooms, which are highly toxic, but i really dont know too much about identifying psilocybe mushies, only a select few edible mushrooms, so take that with a mega-ton grain of salt.

Yeah, I know fuck all about mushroom picking so I'm not touching them till I know for sure. I just got pretty excited cos I've heard that there are some decent mushroom hunting locations in my area.

From the photo, I'd say they're obviously agaricus unidenifiabilis.

Why... no! That photo gives almost NO detail on the mushroom.

Things any amateur mycologist would want to see are...

- gill shape.

- gill color.

- spore color.

- cap texture. Oddly enough, it's more important than you think. Also, cap margin.

- annulus.

- and several other things. Like whether it has a giant bulbous base. Definately eat the ones with a giant bulbous base, especially if they're whitish-green with little warts. (pro tip : learn sarcasm before eating wild mushrooms)

In that photo, the only thing really visible is... stipe color. While stipe color can be important, it's really bloody unhelpful on its own.

Even someone who knew that particular mushroom really damned well would be shit out of luck looking at that photo. They're probably not psilocybe, but you've got me wondering what the fuck they actually are.

Make a spore print and post it up on www.shroomery.org

We can't identify the shroomz without some info.

They aren't Liberty Caps or Wavy Caps if that's what you're asking, so no, they aren't magic.

Are those two the only indigenous UK species? I know fuck all about shrooms, I just got interested when I saw these, cos they looked like some psilocybin species that I saw a picture of on Erowid. I'm not going to risk it with these though.

There are a few others I think, but Libs and Wavy's are the only major ones which people would pick.

Finding random mushrooms and trying to ID them is dodgy as hell, at least have a slight idea of what you are looking for first.

You are an idiot.

Since when have Liberty Caps ever grown in woods? I bet you're basing your statement on the film "Shrooms", amirite?

Yes, those are indeed mushrooms, and obviously inactive. Could be coprinus (or what ever the hell that genus is called nowadays), but the caps seem a bit off. Doesn't look like anything worth eating, either. If you're not going to provide any useful info at all at least get a picture that isn't shit.
