A distant friend of mine (friend of a close friend) just got engaged. He is almost 20 and she is 22. They started dating when he was 16. His parents found out and made them split and told him to at least wait til he is 18 or get the fuck outta the house (not sure to reasons as to why parents didn't allow them to date.). So thats what they did.
They kept in contact with each other - his parents didn't allow them to stay close. When he turned 18 they started dating and its been almost 2 years and they're going to get married.
I'm sure the girl is the same but he is really mature. When we were younger he use to be the screwball, the one who did stupid shit all the time, but now he is by far the most mature in my group at that age. They both have good jobs and their idea of fun isn't getting smashed anymore.
When I told my sisters (who are 20 and 24 and barley know the couple) they both outright said that they he is too young. I explained to them that he is financially smart, emotionally stable, and mature but they seem to think its too young and claim that you change too much in your early 20's to get married.
Personally as long as you can provide for your wife, emotionally and financially then I think your ready. (sexually helps

) I don't think I'll be ready in 2 years (when i'm 20) but if I found a girl that I'd spend my life with I think that could settle me down.
So when do you think is the proper time to get married?
Also, if you liked each other from 16 to 20 what are the odds your going to change that much from 20 to mid 20's?
