BI challenge...
So, I finally finished reading this book (fiction) where a guy, his brother, and his friend find a crashed private plane with a dead pilot and bag duffle bag containg something like $2,500,000 dollars.
Long story short, he ties up loose ends by killing his friend and brother to make it look like they killed each other and gets away clean so only him and his wife know about the cash.
Then he finds out the money belonged to two brothers that kidnapped some rich European guy's daughter and got it for ransom. One brother died in the plane and the other came to town looking for the money. Then this brother killed the sheriff and was later killed by the FBI.
The main character (who still has the money) ends up talking to an FBI agent who says they didn't have time to mark all the money before it was used a ransom, so they recorded the serial numbers on one in ten bills.
Anyway, the main character ends up burning all the money.
I thought, "What a fucking idiot."
So, BI, say you ended up in this situation.
What would be the best way to launder the money so it's clean.
Convert it to foreign money in another country, then back to unmarked US currency?
I'm not too sure myself, I just though you guys would like to discuss a situation as unique as this.

Re: BI challenge...
I would just spend it carefully at first, save it for a while.
You don't really need to launder it, just spend the money somewhere without cameras and you'd be straight.
Not to mention you really can't make any large purchases with cash, they'd notice that you didn't pay taxes on the money before they realized it was one of the marked bills.

Essentially just live a normal day life and pay your rent and never have to worry about shit for the next 20 odd some years , more or less depending on how much you spend.

Re: BI challenge...
Personally I'd launder it. That's enough money to build a serious future, why blow it on day to day shit? Open a shitload of anonymous bank accounts and send the money around so that you can have all the money sitting in a bank eventually to either draw massive interest or use it in smart investments to try to make more money. Of course, this all involves other things like ID fraud and how to open bank accounts without staining your own identity, and since I know TOTSE doesn't like good information and prefers to live in fantasy land I'll spare you.

Re: BI challenge...
I wouldn't launder it, since laundering takes a sizable amount of cash away.
I'd probably bury it, wait 40 years or so(while still working, living a normal life cash untouched) then take it out, and then use the cash. Statute of limitation>FBI.
Srsrly, what kind of items do you buy on a daily basis where the FBI has direct contact with the seller in question?
A- None.
