I have 1 gram of Salvia Divinorum 10x extract. I weigh 140 lbs. How much of the 10x should I smoke to break through and trip balls for a first time?

Erowid has information for 5x extract with dosages ranging from 1/10 of a gram and since 10x is more potent, how much then should I take? I don't want a light experience. I want something immersing.

What's the best method of smoking it? Would vaporising it work?

I'd still use about 1/10 of a gram in a bong with a torch lighter. Make sure you keep the torch on it at all time of the hit. A vaporizer probably won't get hot enough to vaporize the salvorin a and b. Also if you don't break through on your first shot, your best bet is to quickly load another bowl and hit it again. Remember to hold the biggest hit you can for the longest you can and you should be able to break through.

As long as it hits you I doubt your going to have a "light" experience. You will trip balls. Load up a bowl and grab your torch. Hold the hit in as long as you can and don't necessarily expect to break through on your first try. You'll break through when you're ready to break through.

Also, Salvia isn't really recreational. If you've done your homework you probably realize that. Enjoy yourself and don't mind the skin sizzle.

fill a bowl and smoke it like weed, if you dont finish the bowl in the hits you take before you breakthrough, trash the ash and put the rest in a baggy.

salvia fucks with my shit.. all i did was sat down, took a huge hit out of a pipe, held it in for like a minute, blew it out, tripped fuckin balls for about 5 minutes then was sober as a judge in about 10

He means it's not particularly fun. You don't sit on the couch, bored off your ass, and think, "Hey, let's smoke some salvia!" It's generally used for experimental or introspective reasons.

I'd just pack it all into the bowl and take the biggest hit(s) you can. Whatever is left over you can let a friend smoke or save it for yourself if you feel like it.

have a sober friend nearby who is stronger than you... I posted a trip report of my final salvia trip... long story short, my bare foot was in a fire... i was tackeled out of the fire, fucked up a tent after landing on it...

I'd highly suggest trying it with one or two of your closest friends (that you know won't push you around while you're peaking) so you can take turns and attempt to explain what you saw after.

Also, I'd recommend avoiding music you're first few times. Just a tip. For me every time I smoke it while listening to music I get "stuck" in a state where the music turns in to visible waves and just begins to repeat itself. I always end up feeling pain pulsing through my body each time these waves go through me. It's weird..but it's happened to me a few times..and only when I'm listening to music.

i was feeling understanding at the moment IIRC, and i was cracking up about it, and somehow related that to salvia even though IMO the drugs are completely different...

You can smoke salvia without a bong. I managed to get some decent effects off salvia (for the first time out of 5 or so previous uses) last night just by smoking it with a normal lighter. Keep the flame on it the whole time, take a looong toke, hold it in for 30 seconds, exhale, repeat, put everything down very quickly.

It's not particularly pleasant for me after the initial effects. I lost all sense of three-dimensional perspective and couldn't figure out which direction I was facing, or even if I was standing or sitting. Every time I moved my head or my body everything would fracture into different two-dimensional layers that started closing in around me. It was cool at first, but then I started feeling trapped and couldn't move. I'd also completely forgotten I'd just smoked the salvia. I came out of it in reverse, but felt intensely paranoid and suspicious of reality for another 15 minutes. Gonna do it again though, see what else it has to offer.

EDIT: Before that, salvia's done a range of things to me, and it's never been the same twice. Once I could only move in extreme slow motion (that was fun), once I just got giggly and acted stoned, once the walls started swimming slightly and I got a bit tripped out by a flashing light, once I got very heavy and fascinated by a pen and once nothing much happened. Each time before I did it with a mate and he got different effects each time too. It's a peculiar drug, I think the reaction you get is very dependent on your circumstances, and something has to set off the reaction. When I lost my sense of perspective, it started when I reached out for a glass of water and missed (I'd gotten stumbly and uncoordinated), then spiralled from there. It's an interesting thing to try.

Salvia has got a high melting point, so if its made into smoke & the smoke hits anything cold it will condense on it.
Thats why it took me so long to actually 'break through'.

I found that out after doing a 'bucket bong' sorta thing, yeah there was smoke, but it didn't do anything.
Afterwards I pulled the bottle out & there was a thin yellowy/brown film inside the bottle. Figured that was the actual Salvia chemical.

Later on>

I found a small glass pipe & put some in it & then heated the glass bowl from the outside untill it got hot.

I inhaled the moisture out of the mix & then heated it up a bit more & then switched the torch around & into the bowl.

This lit up the mix, I inhaled hard & switched the torch around again so I could heat the bowl in the general area where the mix wasn't burning.

If the flames kept on the mix all the time I think it burns the oxygen out of the air going in & so the mix won't burn as well as it should.
Thats unlike pot, which does burn hotter with a flame on it.

It definately dosen't burn anywhere as hot as it should anyway.

Salvia smoke smells vile. I don't think I could stand being in a room filled with it.

I just smoked a bowl. I don't know how much smoke I got and I know I didn't keep it in too long but I must say, this is powerful stuff.

I didn't go into a different universe or anything but I'm glad that it didn't happen this time since I really wasn't in a comfortable position for it. I had major changes in perception which I won't be able to explain, however.

Also, I don't know why all the people are bitching about the smoke. The only problem with it for me is that it feels really "light" in my lungs and I can hardly even notice if I inhaled it or not. That was why I didn't take a proper hit. I was like "fuck I did it wrong" but then suddenly I blew a huge amount of smoke out in a breath. :\

Salvia gives me cold patches over my body for a while (a few days) but I like the warm buzzy feeling directly after it.

Salvia is weird- you smoke it, then whatever flowing/ebbing pattern has some ultimate, significant end and then you come back and wonder where the significance was to begin with and then if you're like me, you then wonder what would happen if you were walking on a concrete sidewalk, and you just, you know, fell through it.
