anonymous, for one is very loosely affiliated with 4chan, mainly in that it uses the same board style with their sites. Other than that, they're not really affiliated. Few anonymous users go to 4chan, but most 4channers are not a part of anonymous. On top of that, they don't do any real hacking...they phish and brute force emails, myspaces etc; and they've got huge numbers to allow them to do massive amounts of it. they rarely/never discover any of their own exploits and use them. In the hacking community we call them 'skids'. It's just that they're so huge that they're like the king group of 'skids'.

Totse has some excellent hackers, I know because I've worked with them.

Lol. It's a part of that particular CMS that I believe 4chan or some other chan made. There are TONS of similar image boards/boards that are really just web servers running that particular CMS. For example:

And in fact, on those image boards you don't HAVE to post anonymously. Anonymous has their own private boards that simply use the same CMS. Do you even realize how many thousands upon thousands of sites use the exact same CMS that have the anonymous posting style? 4chan is just a very tiny subsection.

I have always felt that the way Anonymous operates is more in keeping with Mygots attitude than 4chan. Granted the name obviously came from 4chan but Mygot has been "doing it for the lulz" since before it was popular.
