Another LSA question
Alright, now I'm aware that sooo many people ask questions about morning glories and extraction methods and everything, but my question is a little more specific.
Alright, so I have a MG plant growing near me. I've tried about 4 times to trip off the seeds and it worked twice. One experience was actually pretty nice and eye-opening. But I was hoping to do an extraction to maybe get a better product, and to get rid of the nausea. I found out that you might be able to use Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol). And basically just soak the crushed up seeds in it, then let the alcohol evaporate. Now, if I only have 70% isopropyl alcohol, will this still work, because I read that the other 30% is just water, and since LSA is water soluble, then it seems like it should still work. And the second part of my question is, I also read somewhere (maybe the MG FAQ?), that there are also small amounts of LSA in the leaves and flowers, so could you also do an extraction on leaves/flowers/stems?
Thanks.

Re: Another LSA question
just get HBWR off the net, you only need like 10 seeds.

Thanks kwerjack but I'm not really worried about quantity. I'm sure I have plenty of seeds. I'm kind of just curious about the leaves thing, because if the leaves did work it would expand the amount of things i can do with it. I would eventually like to get some HBWR though, I have heard they're nicer.

Re: Another LSA question
So no one has an idea on a possible answer? Might just have to go ahead and attempt, would hate to waste the seeds on an unsure idea though, :\.

Re: Another LSA question
no no other part of the plant contains lsa.
the reason i said to get hbwr is because you only need to eat 10 seeds, so less nausea than like 150 or whatever seeds.

Re: Another LSA question
LSA has a decently high concentration in sleepygrass (stipa robusta) as well. Not to mention an extraction from dried plant material is probably a bit easier than grinding up a whole bunch of seeds.
I believe it's around 10-30µg per gram of dried grass, whereas there's only about 1µg per MG seed.
I'm sure you can find some online. Even better, grow a whole damn field of it :)

Yea, thanks. Like i said, I've heard that they're better so I'll have to get a hold of some. My neighbor just happened to be growing some Morning Glories, so I figured I might as well start messing around with it.

Re: Another LSA question
i have no experience with MG, but have tried HBWR three times and actually tripped once. i dunno why the other times didnt work, and it was the same batch of seeds so i suspect faulty seeds. thinking about ordering some again....

Re: Another LSA question
Yea, I've heard stuff like that before. It could be the specific seeds though. Like maybe just the natural amount of LSA in each seed, or maybe certain seeds got exposed to heat, just shit like that. But I definitely need to start expanding on my psychedelics.

Re: Another LSA question
you can purify you alcohol to 99% using table salt. the water binds to the salt and separates from the alcohol as a layer. siphon that shit you have 99%

Re: Another LSA question
I just wash the ground seeds in Ronsonol, although some say the lighter fluid is too impure. I've gotten off with 50 seeds passably & pretty good with a 100. 200+ is better, but a 100 is nothing to laugh at. They recommend starter fluid. I haven't tried it yet.
An extraction with cool water works ok too.
