I just got the game like a week ago or something, and I suck at it.
In the few games that I've played, everyone seems to be able to get headshots pretty easily. I've been directly behind an enemy and completely unloaded on them and they just turn around and headshot me.

Any tips or pointers?

Don't spray and pray? Doesn't work, especially in CS. Burst fire or single shots.

Don't move when you're shooting. You don't have to be crouching, but don't run around while shooting.

Learn which guns are good. AK47, MP5, carbine, and deagle are popular.

I suggest you download nigger nogger, atleast that's what I used in cs 1.6

Read a guide for basic movement and shooting pointers and play play play and play in smaller servers to begin with. Also smoke weed and play and watch your kills go way up, however be careful, as you may fall into the trap in which I and many others have tumbled into where you end up not wanting or being able to play very well without weed. It's a Catch 22, like that book, well not really, but sort of.

if you get body shots easily, you could go for a shotgun.

anyway, usually, i grab a weapon thats got high accuracy in single shots (i personally prefer AK, or 5.56 clairon on burst). keep your crosshair at about eye level and keep it near where you expect people to come from. this comes with learning the map

if you need to take time to aim stay behind a team mate while you practise

use of grenades is also important.try to get a frag and flash every round. and throw them where you think an enemy is before charging. of course dont do this if youre following someone, or else you might kill/flash them

Play counter terrorist, buy a tmp, run & spray. Do this for two hours, every day, for a month and you'll own everyone. Don't use noob canons like the ak or m4.

Just buy an awp and you won't need any skills.

Keep your crosshairs at head height and learn the maps. Once you learn the maps, you'll find out camping spots and know where people are going to be coming from.

actually, i think to become good at cs, you need 2 kinds of skills, one being reflexes and generally good aim, which can be developed in close quarter maps like iceworld, and are useful for all FPS's. the other is cs strategy, which you learn from team games. its about knowing when to use grenades, knowing where to camp, etc.

both are develped during practise

1. Join CT.
2. Get a shield.
3. You are know invincible.
