"chill" vs "burntout"
lately i've heard an obsession with people bragging about how "chill" they are. this is basically they can smoke a lot of weed, and then not move or talk for the next two hours, and whenever anyone wants to do something fun, they say "chill man, this is fun.." in a really low voice. This is burnout in my book, nothing fun about it. All of my friends are turning into these little "chill" mother fuckers. they wont wanna like go ride bikes, go shop, or do anything that doesnt involve rolling around in a car or sitting on a couch. feel free to move to B&M, i wasn;t really sure cause it was a weed thread.
edit: i just realized this is kinda a just bitch with incomplete thoughts, fuck ill fill it in later.

Re: "chill" vs "burntout"
K your friends are all normal. \There brains arent fried or anything but they have grown up more than you and just wanna have some fun. Going car shopping or jacking car logos is something id do in grade 7. Going for bikes is fun though btw when your stoned out of your skull. Just chill along with them. Smoke some more weed and jam. Maybe go for a walk or two to smoke a few blunts then tell them to do something cuz there alreaady outside.

Re: "chill" vs "burntout"
They're atleast watching tv or movies or some shit right?
For the vast majority of smokers, that's all they do when they're high, shit it's why they smoke.
It seems you're friends smoke to relax, while you're some gay little kid who happens to smoke.

It's called growing up.
Your friends are normal, you are the fucked up one.
You're a bit late on the growing up part.
No more smoking herb and tweaking out, just chill.

That was me when i smoked weed. It's called somethingsomethingantimotivational syndrome. This means your friends shouldn't smoke weed. Thats why I quit, because I was "chill" while i was supposed to be at the meeting with my probation officer.

Eh, sometimes its fun to do nothing, sometimes it's fun to go for walks and to be active. I usually prefer the latter, but I'm just as happy just to sit/lay down and chill, or talk, or whatever seems like a good idea at the time.

burnt out is what happens when you stay high for a few days solid from waking up to going to sleep... exhaustion ensues and you dont want to do anything but just lie around and nap...

Re: "chill" vs "burntout"
The only problem I have is with people that talk like they're badass because they smoke weed.
"Dude! I smoke like soo much weed!! Im just so chill now it's crazy! Its cuz I smoke so much weed!"
1. They make other pot smokers look bad
2. They usually smoke less pot than someone who doesn't run their mouth.
3. They fucking morons.
4. They're usually the ones that get stoned and do something retarded...which kind of goes with number 1.

Lack of insight mostly.
As far as i know OP's mates could be teenagers without a care in the world or surgeons coming home from work and just want a nice relaxing sesh after reattaching someones innards.
You're right about the last bit though.

I thoroughly agree. I'm sure that anyone who's smoked weed at least on a semi-regular basis has come across someone like this. It's one of my major pet-peeves whilst toking, you're just sitting there, trying to enjoy yourself, and they're knocking shit over, or yelling, or talking shit about how bad-ass they are, or whatever else. Ugh, your post reminds me of this one guy I used to know, we were toking together, and I gave him my marble pipe so he could have a cone, he finished smoking with it, and then he started running and threw it as hard as he could. I was just standing there like "WTF?"

That's the problem with weed. It makes you feel like you're having fun when you're bored. Being bored is a sign to go out and do something, not sit on your ass.
OP, if you're friends bring you down with this lifestyle, you need to get new friends.

Re: "chill" vs "burntout"
Because consuming THC causes your brain to release certain chemicals anddd that's the main purpose of those chemicals.
Either you're just 1 of those kinda people that reacts really different to it's effects(in the dumbass way; the way that causes majority of people to avoid doing it with you) Every drug category has those few people.... Or your first few times doing it/rarely do it.

There are no rules as to what you should or shouldn't do before or after consuming the Mary J, just proper etiquette.
You guys know the drill:
Don't raid a friend's fridge unless they say it's okay.
Don't act like you're stoned when you really aren't.
Have fun.
If your friends just want to "chill" and you don't, then don't. Sometimes if you make what you want to do seem a lot more enjoyable than the current task at hand, occasionally people will join in out of curiosity. Be you, man. :-)

i dont like stand ther and run in circles around them. i just fucking hate people that sit there and literally WONT move.
this one asshole, he'll be sitting like five feet from the lights when were watching a movie. Ill say hey, go turn off the lights. he says "I cant." after one fucking blunt theyre glued to their ass like we had been smoking for fucking four hours. I can understand smoking to relax, but smoking to NOT FUCKING MOVE? that is just lame as shit to me.

not much talking. normally just sitting there and like groaning every few seconds on muching their ass off.
its like hanging with a buch of downies. its's not all my friends, just this group of like thee that i started smoking with, now they go to a nigger school that's fill of "chill" dudes and the pot heads at my school will like smoke before going to the mall or smoke while driving or smoke before doing stuff. not just smoke to smoke.
I guess you could say nigger school friends smoke as like the zenith of their fun, but private school friends smoke before actually having the fun to make it more fun.

Re: "chill" vs "burntout"
For the dialect in my town, those are just 2 states-of-mind on the timeline of being stoned. It looks something like this.
Sober_____Buzzed_____High_____Stoned_____Chill____ _Burntout____Sober
Something like that.
But more to the point of arguement, I agree that people need to stop being lazy whilst high. We're living in a increasingly sedentary society and it's not good. Some things are understandable, like not wanting to ride bikes a long distance or something else that requires strenuous activity, because it's 3x harder when you're high, but if all you ever do when you're stoned is sit around and watch TV, ya need to get up and go experience life for the awesome things it has to offer.

If it bothers you so much stop fucking smoking with them. The thing I don't get is how it's any of your business how others act while their stoned...you enjoy it your way and leave everyone else the fuck alone. You aren't the pot police. You don't make the decisions. If you want the lights turned off and know they wont get it, quit your bitching and go flick the god damn switch. Apparently your the more active one so what's the big fucking deal?
Like I said, if it really bothers you that much find some new friends. I'm not trying to be a dick to you dude...I'm just trying to help you. You're obviously not enjoying yourself around these douchebags...so why not find some people that stone like you do? Personally I like enjoying myself when I get stoned.

I know exactly what you're talking about because I used to be one of those kids until one day I realized that it wasn't fun anymore and I was wasting my life/time. Your friends aren't gonna change until they realize on their own how fucking stupid they are. Find a more proactive circle or start doing shit on you're own.

Quite a few of my old mates are like that now. They would rather sit around on their arse all day and night smoking and just smoking as if that is some kind of entertainment that never gets old. I mean sure its great to blaze up but at least make something of it and do something. Make the smoke fit around the entertainment don't make the smoke THE entertainment.

I think this is happening to me... I havent gone to school the past week sleeping past 3 or 4 most days. I have made progress though, I woke up at 130 today. I'm going to smoke a bunch of weed now so I can go to be early and be able to get up tomorrow :D

Re: "chill" vs "burntout"

I "realized" this in a recent trip. (Realized is not the proper word. Rather, it came to me and bore its way into my brain, it wasn't just an idea. It was pretty intense.) But I noticed that the more you do downers, the more "down" you become, and the more uppers you do, can anyone guess? The more "uppety" you get, in a sense. But sometimes right after a really intense smoke session, I just wanna sit there for a little while and collect myself kind of. Going out for a nice slow walk with a buddy or something is nice, or playing some chill basketball. But seriously, yea it can get annoying if someone doesn't wanna do shit, and act like "AGHH I'M SOOOOOOOOOOO FUXXOORRREEDDD UPPP BRAHHHHSKIIIZZZ!!! FUCKY!!" But it's also annoying as fuck when someone's like, "RAGHHH, HAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHA, HAHAHA, LET'S HAHAHA, GOOHAHAHAHAHA, FUCK SOME HAHAHA, SHIT UP HAHAHA, I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAHAHAHA HIIIIGHHHH!!' Pretty much, everyones different. If what yer buddies are doing is bugging you say something to 'em, how else are they gonna change? If you can't even move after smoking one bowl of some mids, don't smoke weed, just go take some fucking baby tylenol and "nod out", pfft. No offense to the OP, just saying.
EDIT: Oh yea, Chill to me means just like hanging out with some friends, maybe just listening to some music or talking, shit like that. But being burntout as a verb (haha), means coming down from smoking for a while, usually when it's for days, but being a burnout (when used as a noun), means you don't do shit but sit around and smoke weed. And not even in like a funny, "ahh, yea, thats just what he does", kind of way, but just in a sad kind of way. But yea, this post is long enough, damn.

Well yeah dude, what did you expect. If someone smokes weed everyday(habitual), they are going to be high. If someone smokes meth everyday, they're going to be "uppety". If the meth head doesn't get his fix, do you thionk he will be uppety? Definetely not. What I'm saying is that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. What you did was find a insignificant correlation between everyday drug use and being high. You didn't find any causation.
