Cellular Mods Your cell phone is really just a specialized computer with a wireless network connection. It has the software that your cellular provider has picked for you, but their software sucks. Why not replace what they give you with better software that has more features?

Default blocking phone numbers

Is there a way to configure my Pantech Duo so that it will block certain phone numbers from contacting me? Also, how do I block withheld calls? Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is apparently a program called AT&T Smart Limits. With this service you can block phone numbers from calling you. The service is $4.99 per month.

Otherwise, most celll phone companies won't let you block a certain number.

Try isolating the number you don't like and give it a silent ringtone so it's easier to ignore if you don't want to pay that fee.

Wow, forget that. I found a program for PDA (smartphones) called Call Block. The program is $10 but there is also a 30-day trial version. Is there any way to crack PDA software? I couldn't find any keygens/serials or patches for it.

Also, I'm having a problem with Microsoft ActiveSync. The program is supposed to allow you to transfer programs and files from your PC to your smartphone. But the CD that came with my phone didn't work. If I cannot get ActiveSync to work, I don't think there is any other way I can put the program on my phone.

I put the install disc in my computer and it said "Setup has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsoft about this problem."

Thats a genius idea....I just wish I could do this for withheld calls as well. I would like to use Call Block because I can organize a blacklist of numbers and set it to block withheld calls. My old cell phone could be programmed to accept only calls from my contacts but I can't seem to find such a feature on my new Pantech Duo.

I just have set as Default ring tone is silent, and customize my contacts. That way only my contacts will ring.

Good idea. I guess i could try that for a while. The only drawback I can see happening is that, if I'm expecting a call from someone, I would have to lookup the persons phone number, add them as a contact, and customize it so that it rings at normal volume. Plus, I wear a bluetooth headset, so even though the calls will be silenced on the phone, my bluetooth headset will still "ring" in my ear. Other than that, its flawless.

Do you know of any way to crack the trial editions of smartphone software?

AT&T Worker Here... No. Get smart limits, or like others said above put non-contacts on silent and customize contacts.
