In terms of drugs/drug use, how lenient/strict would you say the cops in your town/state are? Personally, from my experience, the cops where I live (Adelaide) are very laid back when it comes to drugs. I've had cops come up and talk to me when I've been obviously high/tripping and they haven't said or done anything. But, when I lived interstate I found the cops to be very strict, in the sense that they'd take you to the station, and do drug tests and bag searches and so-on all the time.

So how about you guys? What have your experiences with the LEOs been like?

I'm stuck right in the middle of the bible belt in the states. I've had a few promote underage drinking instead of smoking weed. It's like you stepped on their nut and crushed it or something when they catch you with anything. They even got all righteous when they tried to steal my whippet cracker and balloons.

Cops here are assholes that break the law all the fucking time. I've seen cops illegally break into cars, my friend got arrested and never got read his rights (his dad is a lawyer so he got off), I've been illegally searched but never been caught with anything on me, I've been stopped for no reason whatsoever, etc.

The cops here are so fucking dumb as well. When I worked in the smokeshop, they wanted huge discounts on everything, they're fucking assholes.

EDIT: Oh yeah, drinking age here is 18. We don't really have a problem with "underage drinking" because it's not considered cool to get pissfaced drunk. There are the assholes who drink like crazy for no reason but usually they get kicked out. We've got more of a problem with drunk driving, although everyone drives like shit here anyway. ESPECIALLY THE COPS!!!

Quite often they just tell us not to smoke pot near the public if we are and to go somewhere else.

When they search us it's only a half assed attempt so they don't find anything but still put that they searched us.

Yea the police here are chill.

However, they do always confiscate alcohol from underagers, which makes me laugh.

I just started college and UIC isn't really a traditional campus so I was at an apartment not too far off for a party. The back side of the place had a party too but it was a ton of mexican gangbangers so they busted us too when they came for them. Cop walks in and says "before I start checking everyone under 21 leave now!" *Everyone looks around and 80% of kids walk out* My two buddies kept drinking by the keg and when the cop asked if they're the ones that live here they were like "no but we are 21!" They just laughed and told them to get the fuck out.

The police here take all substances and warn you. Oh, but if it's not weed you go to jail.

Fuck the police.

There chill about weed in Norcal, but their fucking draconian assholes about everything else.

They're fairly lenient when it comes to marijuana though.

I've only been fucked with for weed in my hometown, the chicago burbs. One time I was arrested with an eighth and a pipe. I've been let go four other times with the cops just taking my weed, but all of those times it was under a gram so they were like, idk, you have a job and are enrolled as a student, stay the hell out of this neighborhood and we won't arrest you. And generally when they roll a party in the woods or under an underpass or something they don't run after the people who buck and only nab the people who are too drunk/scared/stupid to run. At house parties, if everyone is over 17 or 18 they make you line up into two lines, one the line of people who drank and one the line of the people who didn't drink. Then they breathalize everyone in the didn't drink line, arrest the people who lied to them and make every in the drunk line get a ride home with a driver in the sober line or walk...

They aren't all that bad. I've walked past cops while I was smoking a joint, and they just told me not to walk through such a public place smoking because it might upset people.

And I've been pulled over while driving with only my G1 (have to have an adult with you to drive) and four of my friends drunk or passed out in the car. Open alcohol was everywhere and the cops just called our parents for a ride home.

I don't really mind most of the cops here, but there are few who are complete cocksuckers.

The piggies here spend so much of their time trying to track down drunk kids. Like a retarded amount of time. And considering we're a huge meth town you'd think they'd try and be preventing actual problems.

And ya, the cops here also break a hell of a lot of rules and fuck a lot of shit up.

where i live if you get caught with any drug, they flip out and treat you like a fucking terrorist and call like four backup cars.

UICPD and UofCPD are real assholes. They'll hook you up for no seat belt or a roach in the ashtray in a heartbeat. CPD on the other hand doesen't really care about anything anymore. Morale is at an all time low, the fraternal order of police is useless, everyone's still fighting for a decent contract, and every district citywide has priority calls backlogged daily. CPD doesen't do street and traffic stops nearly as much as they used to. They stop some shithead , arrest them, then usually the case ends up getting dismissed for no probable cause, and the shithead gets to play the ghetto lottery in court. It's just not worth it trying to be the real police and ending up getting sued.

Caught with 10 grams weed, made us dump it out- verbal warning

Busted a friends party(100% underage drinking, over an ounce of weed, REALLY LOUD, 3 am) - told everyone to leave no charges

Drunk and Wreckless Driving (jumping curbs running stop signs, in own neighbor hood) - turn signal warning, and followed me home

Austin-

Walking down the street not in a straight line with friends who could walk a straight line - minor in consumption ticket ($250) community service, alcohol class

caught in a parked car with only 3 grams of weed - taken to jail for 30 hours charged with possession of marijuana

In my area cops don't really care if I smoke weed iv been pulled over many times they know I am high they just don't care cops got more important things to worried about then kids smoking Weed

Houston is pretty tight: I'm not black and I'm pretty careful so I really haven't been bothered by cops except for the occasional speeding ticket.

I got 9 months fucking house arrest, and I told my lawyer I wasn't read my rights. He said we coulden't prove it and therefore your friend is probably full of shit. And I know your lying because if your friends dad really is a lawyer he wouldn't represent his own son, he would have gotten his buddy to do it. Quit lying on the internet you fool.

My town is about as dirty as they come. I got so many stories of bs ass stuff happening. Here's one for instance. My close friend (who happens to be my weed dealer), drives a solara.

Anyways he was driving one day, and was going through a light and some old ass blind lady went through a red light and t-boned his ass. Lady gets out and he gets out, they call police, etc.

Police show up, and then the old lady tells the police he smells like "marijuana". They search his car and find nothing. Then this one dick head cop goes "no no i know he has something on him." Goes back to his car, rumages around and has something in his hand and comes back, and searches his car again, then comes to the other cops with like a blunt in a bag and says he found weed. Mind you all the while the weed he had was a dime hidden in his car that we could see from standing outside the car. They never found it.

They arrested him and charged him with simple possession.

Cops have nothing to do here. They will pull you over for such bullshit reasons as no turn signal, taillight out, license plate light out, too fast for conditions (in broad daylight i might add), no seatbelt, etc.

In short, everyone knows not to fuck with the police or they will beat your ass.

The cops in my area are bitches, but they could get worse, so i'm not gonna complain.

In my buddy's town with a smaller population then mine,the cops just confiscated my buddys bong and bowl and didnt do shit about it,but the cops here now about all the drug use they probably would encourage it more/weed

I live in FL and we have pretty strict drug laws. Cops usually don't care if you're underage and drunk but they're pretty damn strict on drugs other than alcohol. I got charged with possession when I had about 0.1-0.2 grams. It was 1 stem with scraps of weed on it.

I'm in the Bible belt as well...but I'm also in the #1 meth county in America. Small amounts of pot aren't really a big issue here. That's not to say that it's alright to smoke up in a park but they have much bigger fish to fry.

I've been approached with RC in my possession but they weren't found. I wasn't too worried about it because I doubt they would have known what they were.

Underage drinking is highly frowned up here like everywhere else but I don't have to worry about that. At the moment one of their main concerns is drinking and driving. Public Intox is pretty easy to get away with if you aren't causing trouble.

Hmm depends exactly where you live here, it's kind of a small city trying to be a big one. In the mid-town area where most people live they're pretty bad. They love arresting guys/kids for anything they can. Tagging/gang scribbles and bad drug problems in a certain part of town usually goes hand in hand with shitty ignorant cops.

Iv never had any trouble with police, once or twice iv been stopped for other reasons and been asked if I was smoking a joint (rollies.) But the closest after that was when they used to come down the skate park, wander round then bugger off.
I think they have more important things to worry about and as long as your not being stupid or at least exhibiting some common sense you have nothing to worry about yourself either.

I'm in stamford, which is pretty much a new york suburb, but they're much nicer over here.

You could be high and they won't care, unless you're making a disturbance. You can smoke a joint or blunt in public and thy're ok with it, but they might tell you to leave if it's a bong or something obvious..... Pretty much they only care about real crime here, you just have to be polite and to them whatever you do won't really matter.
