It's nothing to do with being bitter. It's just frustrating. I could show you pictures I've taken that look far more creepy than that, or pictures my friends have taken. Ghost dogs or people, demonic-looking faces, inexplicable objects, whatever. But whereas I know that these pictures can be generated easily using long exposure or low light conditions or directional lighting or whatever, other people persist in attaching significance that isn't there.

The human brain is very adept at recognising patterns. It's evolved to pick out patterns and faces since well before we were human, it's had millions of years to refine it. The result of this pattern-recognition ability is that occasionally our mind returns false positives; ever look at the clouds and pick out figures or objects? Ever look at something hanging up in your room at night and think you see a face there? Everyone has. It's the same with photos; ambiguous details can be resolved into apparently recognisable patterns. It's nothing to do with demons, it's just our mind doing what it's evolved to do.

But still, people shit themselves over photos that anybody could take. This kind of thing will arise in photos from time to time, it's the law of averages at work. Stop making nothing into something.

Presuming he's telling the truth, I think that he did take the pic (conscious or not) and that his finger is partially covering the lens and thus obscuring the dog's face. I think the only relevant part of the picture is the extremely visible demonic face, (eyes, horns, pointed nose and chin, in red against a black background). Even in the original photo, it still seems very visible.

My two cents. Still might be a fake.

EDIT: Weirdly enough, the demonic face becomes even more visible if I take a picture of the modified picture on my LCD screen with my iPhone. I'll try to post it. Meanwhile, I experimented with finger position. It looks like the dog came up to his bedside, and he (unconscious) took the photo. If it was an otherworldly entity, the dog may have alertered him. Regardless, I figured out how he was holding his hands. His left hand steading the phone and hit the camera button. His right index finger is intentionally obscuring the lens; however, the angle is such that he must be pointing to something on the screen from in front of the lens. He is, in face, pointing out the face.

Humans have a natural tendency to see faces in shadows and such. The face being blurred is probably just because of the slow exposure time in the dark setting. Slow exposure = blurred moving shapes. It can be hard to get a sharp closeup picture of a dog, even on a good day with a good camera.

But the overall vibe of this picture is damn creepy, especially with that rug. They are like shadow tentacles or something.

I don't know if they are legitimate pictures or not, but you can clearly see a demon face in the smoke in each picture. The photographer swore he didn't edit the pics, and didn't know about the faces until someone else pointed them out. *IF* those pictures were indeed unedited and original, then that's fucking creepy.

There were a shitload of pics taken on that day. Seeing something you want to see in smoke is easy enough.
