my brother's ex-girlfriend claimed to have taken 30 tablets of ambien last night (around 2:30-3:00 AM) after drinking alot of alcohol. She is awake and coherent right now but claims to not remember anything from roughly 1:00 am last night to 12:00 pm this afternoon. She hasn't vomited or been sick in that entire time frame.

Please give me any facts or observations that I can use to show my brother that this is probably a stunt for attention and that if she had actually taken 30 ambien she would have been dead, in a coma, or at least in a very deep sleep and not walking around in her pajamas right now.

Sorry, I assumed the FAKE part would imply that she wasn't dead. I think it was a total stunt and I am just looking for any information that I can use to prove that this bitch probably just flushed her prescription down the toilet and didn't actually take 30 pills.

um....if she had taken 30 ambien (im guessing 10mgs each?, even @ the 5mg/ea dose, its still be alot) shed have forgotten ALOT more than 2 hours.

ve been on it for about a year in a half, and i have a pretty high tolerance (20mg/nightly for sleep). when i take a decent size dose (around 60-80mg for me) i wont remember quite a bit of the night. and thats without drinking. when drinking, remember maybe 1/10 of the nights events.

anyway, i call bullshit. not even gonna get into the whole ability to not puke up 150/300mgs of ambien.

What is the dosage of Ambien? 5? 10 mg?

Either way the bitch is full of shit. 150 mgs of Ambien/or/300mgs of Ambien is enough to put somebody to sleep for a very long time(dependent on body weight/tolerance), and combined with alcohol just makes it all that worse. She would certainly not be walking around a couple hours later, not a fucking chance. She would be passed out cold if not on the way to the morgue right now.

Also, if she took the ambien around 3:00 a.m, but she says that she doesnt remember anythign from 12:00am to 12:00pm, how the fuck did she remember taking the ambien?

bottle was full @ 12am-empty @ 12pm? not that hard......

and if you have any kind of real insomnia, ambien wont "knock you out". it just makes you get tired easier

I have taken 100mg of ambien on more then one occasion.

That is reflected to 10 or 20 pills depending if they are the 10mg or 5 mg ones, respectively.

Doses of 300+mg have been reported, without visible lasting damage.
I have even heard of people shooting the stuff.

She would be fucking TRIPPING if she took 30 10mg pills (300mg). And fucked up for ~2 hours, from 150mg.

The half-life of ambien is actually quite small.

Overdoses on medications such as Benzos, and Z-Class sleeping aids are nearly impossible if NOT mixed with other drugs(particularly alcohol).
