Default Finding a job as a felon Part 2

I have a class B felony on my record.
Since I was a juvenile and it was a first offense, I recieved a thing called a "Deferred Dispositon" where after 1 year of probation, my record would be wiped clean.
I have 1 month left.

I've yet to find a decent job, I've worked places that do not require background checks (Telemarketing, Construction, etc).

I recently had a job interview with Walgreens and aced the interview, I was offered the job and asked to start ASAP pending drug / criminal background check.

Well the drug test came out clean, but the background check became a problem.
It was taking longer then normal and the manager asked me "you're sure nothings going to come up on the background check right?"

I talked to my PO, and according to her, The charge would come up on a background check, but it would also show the deferred in process, and at the end of the probation [October] it would show no longer.

So I asked the manager if I could come in and talk,
and i explained the situation.

She seemed understanding, and talked about how she hoped the check would still pass.

fastfoward to 3 days later , 2 days after the check was supposed to be done.

No calls.

I called my friend, and talked to his dad, and he offered me a job for his company @ $15/hour.

fuck walgreens

Stop fucking complaining. You only have a month left and you found a job.

Many of us have it on our adult record and are therefore fucked over a much longer span of time.

I too have been arrested and have a felony against me.

I have no problem finding work... you just gotta forget working your 9-5 comfy job, because those jobs are for people who don't break the law.

Go find a warehouse, anywhere, any warehouse, that doesn't have a real big name behind it... and then just go in and be like "I heard you were hiring, need any work done?"

7 out of 10 warehouses don't criminal background check, and 9/10 don't drug test. They realize your substance abusing, law-breakin' types usually work labor jobs, so they don't make them hard to get.

You could also go out on your own, and start your own thing... find something to buy at a very low cost to yourself, with a decent turn-around, and then sell them... sell those motherfuckers until its either no longer profitable, or business goes away.

Personally, I make plenty of money off of craigslist alone, by looking for great deals on things that will easily sell for higher. The FREE section alone is a gold-mine if you have a pick-up truck and some fix-em-up in you.

I just go on there, search for everything under $30, and see whats just thrown in there, like vacuums, appliances, TVs, furniture, etc...

If you can learn to fix anything you get your hands on (and do a GOOD job), then you can stand to make a LOT of tax-free cash-money.

Personally, I make between $2000-5000 a month, depending on whats going on, and thats between physical labor jobs, or doing the craigslist thing.

I was charged with vehicular homicide when I was 16, some stupid paki thought it would be smart to cross a fucking dark ass street at 3 am.

I got 1 year probation =(

Probation is fucking hell
I don't do drugs though, so it's been good.
and I don't even have to go in for monthly check ins anymore.
