Default Antisemitism is a rather ironic term

Virtually all Arab Muslims are Semites, most Jews on the other hand are not. The term Semitic of course refers to the ethnic groups which trace their lineage back to Noah's son Shem. Arabs are generally considered to have descended from Ismael, who was a Semite; however, most Jews today are the descendants of Khazars who converted to Judaism en masse around AD 700. There's no evidence to suggest that the Khazars descend from Shem.

While you for once ARE correct, you're also incorrect.

The word "anti-Semitism" was coined in Germany in 1879 by Wilhelm Marr as a more euphonious way of saying "Judenhass" (Jew-hatred), and has always meant exactly that. Its antonym, "Semitism" connoted a positive attitude toward the Jewish people. The word has become too sanitized and too easily misunderstood, which is exactly what Marr tried to accomplish with the word's creation.

Please explain how I am incorrect, Wilhelm Marr based the term on an existing word for an ethnic group whom those who are Jewish largely do not belong to.

Prior to Marr, this word didn't exist. He invented it for the sole purposes of drumming up hate, such as this.

Congrats on falling into an easily foreseeable trap.

What are you a moron? I'm saying the word 'antisemitism' is derived from the word 'semite' which did exist long before Marr.

That's part of my point though, the real Israelites, who moved to Europe after having their homeland conquered by the Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians in 597 BC are good people and God's true chosen. These Pharisee serpents who call themselves Jews today are Satanic impostors.

Revelation 3:9
"Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee."

In fact, they are at least partially descended from the same Babylonians who conquered true Israel so many centuries ago. That's why their most important religious book is the "Babylonian Talmud"

Semitic was first used to refer to a language family of largely Middle Eastern origin, now called the Semitic languages. This family includes the ancient and modern forms of Akkadian, Amharic, Arabic, Aramaic, Ge'ez, Hebrew, Maltese, Phoenician, Tigre and Tigrinya among others.

Shem is described as the father of Aram, Asshur, and Arpachshad: the Biblical ancestors of the Arabs, Aramaeans, Assyrians, Babylonians, Chaldeans, Sabaeans, and Hebrews, etc., all of whose languages are closely related; the language family containing them was therefore named Semitic by linguists.

Where the hell did you pull that from?
You're saying that most jews are descended from a group that converted in AD 700, despite the fact that the major diasporas that scattered Jews around the ancient world occurred 600-1500 years before that???

The late 19th century term "anti-Semitism" refers incorrectly to hostility toward Jews specifically, further complicating the understood meaning and boundaries of the term.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semite

It's not really ironic, it's just incorrect. Semites practice all three abrahamic beliefs.

He didn't do that intentionally. It just turned out to work pretty well over time. Few things like this are done intentionally. Just like totse memes. Which stick around and which get forgotten within a week? No one knows. It's not exactly a conspiracy.

Are you absolutely certain that he didn't intend to use it as a tool of hate?

There's some pretty overwhelming evidence that Marr was a bit of a...Jew hater.

Not to the extent that it's being used now. I mean, it became so much more than he could have ever hoped for. But then again, hating jews is of all times. It's one of those fashions that will never go out of style. Personally, I think jews are scumbags.

No way, Einstein was a good guy :) Now, Freud was a bit odd and Marx was a bit radical, but what would we do without all the genius Jewish people of the world?

Not to mention, TV would be shit without Seinfeld, Arrested Development, and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Let's all sit here and praise the almighty jews that without our life would be so miserable.

Meanwhile, thousands of children are starving in Gaza.
