W. (George Bush movie)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg7vwicPx98
Looks pretty good. Josh Brolin is playing him, and he looked unrecognizable. I'm smelling an Oscar already.
Anyways, when I first heard about it I thought it would just be another Bush-bashing media event, but it looks like it might actually be an even-handed and unbiased portrayal. One of the comments on the youtube page said "W's simply a human being, and it would be interesting to see the human being portrayed on film.", which hit the nail on the head.
What do you guys think?

Who knows, it might actually be good. I did think this was a troll thread at first though.

I don't really know to be honest. I did physically facepalm though when I clicked this thread and started watching the trailer.
I think the movie will most likely suck and the name alone is even ripe for parody. I wouldn't be surprised if there were already parody trailers circulating the internet.

What's with Oliver Stone and making movies about presidents?

Re: W. (George Bush movie)
I'm not holding my breath for an Oliver Stone classic because he hasn't made on of those since the 80s. But I'd check it out simply for Brolin who has been consistantly awesome in the past couple of years. Plus Richard Drafuse is playing Dick Cheney. That's pretty cool. I thought his career had disappeared when he climbed on that alien space ship at that Prog rock concert.
But i doubt it's gonna be unbiased. I'm sure its going to paint Bush in a fairly unfavourable light but stick some "humanist" scenes in so they can say they are more even handed than they actually are.

Re: W. (George Bush movie)
It's pretty weird to make a high budget Hollywood movie about a president while he's still in office. Bush no doubt sees it as a big cockslap in the face.

Re: W. (George Bush movie)
I don't like most of Oliver Stone's films and there's nothing about George W. Bush's life that interests me enough to sit through a 2-3hour film about it.
I don't plan on seeing it anytime soon.
