enlightenment through pure stream of thought
so, me and my friend mike are planned to drop acid for the first time at his house, and we will probably have at least one sober sitter who will just chill with us all night(were all sleeping over) and ive just been worrying a litttle bit about having a bad trip, i mean, ive read so many trip reports and stories on here over the years, and i know trips can go both ways, but maybe some one has any advice to calm my mind, or any ideas on how to make this first trip and unforgettable one. and we will be able to leave his house and go outside all night long.
tl/dr= advice on fun/needed/recommend things to have, and to do whilst tripping on lsd.

I doubt you will have a bad trip unless you eat A LOT. Even then, it's still fun as fuck, despite freaking out. I once ate 25 hits and though it was a "bad trip" in that I couldn't function and was scared shitless, it was still fucking awesome tasting colors and shit. It was like a million colors linked with a million sounds and a million tastes, each with their own taste, sound, smell, color, image, everything. Everything linked to another. Millions at once. Colors I didn't even know existed. Images that blew my fucking mind.
Buy the ticket, take the ride man. You gotta throw caution to the wind and say fuck it.

If you find yourself overwhelmed, just go outside. Nature seems to soothe and center you on cid. The beach is key.
Yeah and trip sitters are only a good thing if they are completely straight and won't try to "fuck" with you. If he starts deliberately trying to trip you out or keeps asking what the trip is like it's time to kick him to the curb. The people who will wave their arms around and ask if you see trails and if it's tripping you out are real buzzkills... Yes I'm tripping out and yes I'm seeing way more trippy shit the likes of which you and your hands couldn't possibly understand or match.

Oh and by the way if you're looking for "enlightenment" through stream of though practice, acid is a good choice drug. While tripping one time I stopped and sat on my skateboard for a few minutes and while sitting there tripping I suddenly started to "hear" myself think. Like every moment's thought would be heard as my voice speaking it in my head and as soon as I became conscious of it, my brain kinda felt like it just slapped me and said, "Hey! I'm right here! I'm YOU!" Really weird.
Another time I tripped I became disassosiated from previous states of mind and past selves. Granted on this occasion I dropped 900ug of cid. I would think of myself 5 minutes before the present state I currently found myself in and would have trouble associating myself with my past self. I would literally ask myself, "Who was that guy, and what did he want?" when that guy would just be me previously in another room or wherever gradually making my way through time, to where I am now consiously asking who my past self was and what I was trying to accomplsih or do. Really interesting insight on time.
I can't describe all the crazy insights acid gives you. I've had entire songs written in the English language cease to have verbal meaning. Instead of hearing my language in a way I could understand, for a period of 15 seconds all language ceased to register meaning and I was hearing a song in the English language like a foreign guy would listen to an alien language he doesn't understand. Instead of words, I was hearing sounds created by an English speaking tounge that temporarily sounded like a foreign language to me. And let me tell you, English is NOT a pretty language. It sounded like a mix between German and Hebrew.

My last acid trip was the worst and best it could have been, let me explain. I was tripping by myself for the entire day and had an amazing time and learned much about myself/ other people and things. (good part of the trip).
But by the time I wanted to go to bed I just couldn't sleep, I lay in bed for hours tossing and turning with a mild headache.
at around 12-13 hours after dropping, I finally reached a stage of unconsciousness and had somewhat of a dream or vision, I saw everything, everything that exists or everything that would ever exist compact into a sphere of everything. I suddenly felt so trapped and woke up not knowing what the fuck was going on, I debated about this was experience for a long time and what it meant, it was incredibly traumatizing, and took a few months to recover from it. I figure that was as close as I could come to enlightenment and I barely touched it.
It just goes to show you that what acid shows you might not be what you were anticipating at all, I think this experience was beneficial in the end, but it was very very tough for a while.
I'm not saying this dream was directly connected to LSD, but it was certainly influenced by it, it was almost like right as I was falling asleep, LSD said "hey! and more thing!".
Regardless you'll have a good time if you use it for the right intentions (which is different for everyone). But LSD can be as powerful as people make it out to be, so just be prepared to have your ego blow to pieces. My life kind of started over again from that point forward, I was me, but everything was a bit different. I questioned who I was before that and who I felt like I am now and I felt like I was very different, very introspective.

I have exactly one friend I'd trust to be a sober sitter for me. He knows what it's like and he knows to leave me the hell alone in all but the most dire situations. I've got another that might do, he's not a user but he trusts me enough to listen when I tell him what to do [and not do]. He knows that I'm generally a pacifist, but if I'm ever gonna beat the shit outta someone it's when they're harshing my buzz.
If your friends are immature assholes, tell 'em to stay home. Unless you're completely unprepared and you take waaaay too much, you're not going to get into any place you can't get yourself out of.
The best way to avoid a bad trip is to not worry about it. Go into the experience with a positive mindset. Something just this side of "I'm invincible."
As for activities, don't worry about that, either. It's okay to surround yourself with trip-friendly things, but don't go planning an itinerary. The acid will take you where it wants [and where you want to go, whether you know it or not]. Again, the best thing you can have is an open mind. Don't be afraid of anything.

The fact that you're thinking so hard about having a bad trip will ironically make you have a bad trip, I think. I mean as soon as you start feeling the cid you'll just panic yourself into a bad trip, you know what I mean? Just make sure you're in a comfortable place and in a good mood beforehand. I don't see why a sitter would be necessary.

it has u feeling the way u were in the first place except to a way stronger extent. So if ur in a bad mood or panicky before u take it, dont take it. If your already in a good mood, ul be in a better mood when u take it.
so if your relaxed enough before u take it, uv nothin to worry about. AND even if it starts off bad, just calm down and itll go good... You're never 'stuck' in a bad trip. the lsd doesnt determine what trip youll have, you do.

Would .5mg of xanax before dropping LSD be a horrible idea? I have taken it before on the come down and it worked nicely, but I'm just curious if this would kill a lot of the LSD or merely put you in a calm more relaxed mood?
