I took one about an hour and a half ago and I accidentally just swallowed it instead of the whole under the tongue thing that I was told to do. I'm feeling minor effects now. Will it just take longer to hit me or have I reduced its effectiveness?

On a similar topic, will it null the effects if I eat? It seems to kill my buzz completely if i'm on a contin and I eat.

Eating typically doesn't kill my opiate buzz...if I eat on H I just vomit. How many MG was the suboxone and what's your opiate tolerance like?

I usually rail a quarter of an 8mg pill, sometimes an extra milligram. I also only have a slight tolerance.

It might slightly or significantly dull the effects depending on your tolerance, when you take it, and how much you eat.

I recommend railing them(depending on tolerance).

I have a high tolerance...like not quite junky status, but 80-100mg oxy/roxy makes me feel pretty good. I split 8mg with my girl. I guess i'll have to try more next time...i have a small buzz, but nothing like what I was looking for.

I've heard the buzz persists a lot longer, though. How long can I expect?

My advice is use the suboxone how it is meant to be used to help clean yourself up

Get high on good drugs if you must but not suboxone

Suboxone, or Buprenorphine for that matter, is only 10% bioavailable when swallowed orally (Because of a VERY HIGH first pass metabolic reaction), instead of the higher 55-70% bioavailability you would have gotten by sublingual or insufflated administration. But with Suboxone, less is more, as in, 2mg would get you feeling even better than say 8mg even with a tolerance; unless one has steady plasma levels of the drug in their blood already, i.e. on Suboxone Maintenance Therapy.

So to answer your question, as said above, YES you did reduce it's effectiveness 5-7 fold, but you will still get something out of it, just not nearly as much.

Next time either try 2mg insufflated (Snorted) or 4mg under the tongue for a great long-lasting high. It's a hate it or love it feeling though, so be fore-warned!

PS: If your body is physically dependent on opiates currently, then taking Suboxone will induce precipitated withdrawals (Full blown withdrawals) and taking Suboxone with any other opiate is just asking for an awful time and it's a waste. Suboxone will compete for the mu receptors and win just about every time (Blocking the high if taken before another opiate/oid) and if taken after, will literally rip out and partially replace the receptor sites once occupied by the "contin" so you are lucky you just swallowed it in one way. Just save an 8mg and split it into 4 equal pieces for a couple rainy/dry days.

your not feeling much, because you swallowed it which rendered it pretty ineffective..

as has been said, you'd of been better of blowing it anyway, more potent that way. and the fact you get high off 80-100mgs means you probally should of done a whole one. [if snorting it, not at once however].

I'm really not interested in quitting, even though I know it would definitely be in my best interest. A new methadone clinic was built about 15 mins away and I'm thinking of going there. It would be way cheaper....sometimes I spend almost a whole day driving and making phone calls just looking for a few tabs or a contin. Legal and $11/day vs. $50+ a day.
