Default so i wanna get a cat...

i hate street cats but i use to see home cats in apartments where i was working once upon a time.

i liked them alot , they were big fat fluffy clean and they don't bark like stupid dumb dogs.

i think i would be a good owner of one.

plus i can just put a litter box some where on the other side of the house and take it out when i need/want to. so i doubt it would be a burden on me.

if i do go through with getting one, should i get him big fat and an adult already? or small skinny and raise him?

can i feed him off my dinner left overs?
how often do they eat?
what shouldn't i feed him?
i heard they stink up the house, true?

any opinions, tips, advise would be apreciated as usual. thank you totse.

Well

My cat is very picky

She will only eat meow mix

Nothing else except meow mix

What your cat eats depends depends on him/her.

I think it would also be better to get a younger cat and raise it but thats just me.

Get a kitten. Why would you want to skip the cutest part of cat ownership?

I don't know about table scraps, but my cats thrive just fine on cheap Meijer brand food.

If you're not going to let the cat outside, consider getting two (of the same age and at the same time is probably best). They'll keep each other busy and won't fuck with as much shit.

The litter box stinks sometimes if you don't clean it often enough. Other than that, my cats never stink up anything, and the only messes they make are when she gets knocked over. Or when the toilet paper needs to be destroyed.

I used to think I was a dog person until I got a cat. I'd highly recommend it.

FUCK!! Not at all. He will go mental and try and get out, and you're in for a world of pain if you try and stop him.

Go and talk to a vet or something, but honestly I don't think you're really cut out for having one.

For all shots and spayed/neutered plan on paying $250+ and even that would be cheap. If it's still a baby then it is too young to get fixed. Petsmart usually does have a vet office, although I have never been to one so I don't know their procedures/prices. If this cat was living on the street you definitely need to get it to a vet b/c it probably has some form of worms.

From personal experience (meaning watching my friends raise cats), its almost always 100% better to get your kitty as young as possible so that it IDENTIFIES with YOU as its owner... instead of ADJUSTING to you as its owner.

Same thing for puppies... you get a dog from birth and raise it as your own, the bond is so much stronger and better than if you'd picked it up at 5 years old.
