I wasn't making saying don't do it. I was making a point that everyone bulks out their curriculum vitae, It didn't really warrant a thread on totse to realise that you were going to have to put 'customer assistant' and a bullshitted description.
At the beginning of this summer I sent out a bunch of resumes with legitimate info on them. I didn't get any good calls. So I rearranged my resume. The cashier job I had at a place that closed down became an assistant manager position. Why not, it's not like they could call and check. Now I have a job within 5 minutes of my house and 2 more interviews lined up and that's just in the span of a week and a half. Highest paying job wins.
So in short, lie your ass off. If you know of a place that existed during the time of your cashier job but has since closed down, put that on your resume instead and say you were assistant manager or shift supervisor or some shit. Worked for me.
