Re: when i lay down i start thinking more
I imagine stuff. In other words I don't listen to inner dialogue or try and untangle the problem of my life, I just live cool imaginary scenes in my head. Usually I'm out like a light.
Weed however keeps me awake for hours.

Its the opposite with me, those imaginary scenes keep me awake, the only chance I have of getting to sleep is music, weed/other drugs, and extreme tiredness.

Re: when i lay down i start thinking more
Ok, this is something that has worked for me for a while.
Ok.. just imagine everything you want, or have been thinking about.. on a screen. You look at the screen in your head. I dunno how this works, but it truly does for me. The noises quiet, and i can focus on just a screen, and get to sleep.
not to mention weed, i haven't slept sober in so fucking long.

You can be anyone you want to be in front of people, but when you're alone, with no body but you and your brain, you start being true to your self.

Re: when i lay down i start thinking more
Try listening to some music then.
But seriously - reprogram yourself.
Everytime you go to bed say to yourself that this is your sleeping time and/or focus on some meaningless activities. For example I like to imagine playing some computer games when I can't get any sleep. Usually works.
And maybe try meditation. What I mean is just specific thinking time for your brain to get things sorted out. Stick to a routine and your brain should figure things out pretty quickly.
Hope it helps.

Re: when i lay down i start thinking more
read a book before you sleep. don´t dodrugs, don´t reprogram yourself. just relax. if that doesn´t help there are ways to relax your muscles that will help you to fall asleep ..
