So as promised it's my review of the Asus EEE pc
So I'll start off by saying that I cannot believe how tiny this thing is. I can honestly fit it in the pocket of my school uniform pants. Or the front pocket of a hoodie. So for portability it easily gets a 10/10
Apart from that, this thing is pretty awesome. The keyboard is pretty small, but you just have to get used to it. I've been typing on it for a couple of hours and I already type at near my normal typing pace on a full size keyboard. It's the same deal with the touch pad, it's very very small but it still is very usable since it's a small screen.
That brings me on to the screen. I decided to try and use it without modifying it at all and run it from it's factory condition. The screen res was so small that it couldn't even fully display a youtube video without cutting parts off, so I downloaded the hacked drivers that allow 800x600 without scrolling. They work like a charm. Sometimes fonts get screwey but it really isn't much of an annoyance.
The power brick is no bigger than a mobile phone charger (And actually only outputs 1/2 a volt more than my phone charger) and the teeth fold in for even more portability.
Really the only thing that's bugging me is how small the ' key is. It's so hard to press without hitting the enter key that if I'm chatting with someone I will usually send a message unfinished.
The camera is pretty good, battery life is decent, I love the card reader for even more storage (my card is the same size as my SSD drive). Speaking of the SSD drive, this thing is supremely fast. I can load Windows XP tiny in about 6 seconds. I love it.
That's what I have to say. I would definitely recommend this to a anyone who asked about it, and it's well worth the 300 dollar price tag.

Don't throw it. Search for any number of Linux distributions and install them. It would be a kick ass VOIP server etc.
Sky is the limit if you don't have a screen.

Still no netbooks on the horizon that measure up to my standards. The whole atom chipset power consumption problem doesnt help.

Couldn't you just replace the screen? It's a simple process.
