I've had a Vicodin prescription for about 3 months now...and this month it just seemed as if my shoulder was killing me more than usual. Like at night when I take breaths in my shoulder clicks, it never did that before. So I only have 5 left now and it can't be filled till the 19th of September.

I have been worrying about this the whole month every time I take an extra one. The Lidocaine patches are shit lately, and I've been downing Valium and occasionally Trazodone and Seroquel...but I try not to do the other two cause they make me feel like ass.

I don't know if I should call the doctor and take the chance for asking for a refill early...I had a person who was going to give me some of her husbands that he doesn't take from a while ago that's just laying around the house but she said she couldn't find them last night and has to talk to him. So now I feel like I'm up the creek. I have 1 morphine pill laying around and 1 suboxone...but those don't do much for me in ways of pain.

I just really don't want the doc shutting me off from them cause I took some extra this month. This fucking sucks.

Are you waiting for a new script or do you have a refill? If you got a refill, some pharmacies/insurance will allow you to fill it 2-5 days early (varies).

I wouldn't call the doc for more yet; just sweat it out. If you had been on them for a longer amount of time, maybe it would be plausible, but running out early after just your third month does not look good.

At your next appointment, try talking to him about your increased pain and maybe he'll suggest a dose increase. They do know that tolerance happens, even though three months, to some doctors, isn't a long time. Just don't make it obvious you're trying to score more pills.

If worse comes to worse until then, you could always make some poppy pod tea.

My dad just gave me 3 different pills for pain...

-Tramadol
-Gabapentin
-Oxaprozin

Which one should I take first...reading on Wiki about them right now.

Seems like Tramadol is my best bet right now...as a last resort kind of thing...fucking doctors I hate them.

Tramadol is the most potent analgesic of those three, but if your pain is nerve-related, the Gabapentin will help you just fine. What dosage are they?

Also, Oxaprozin is just an anti-inflammatory-- though you probably knew all this from Wiki.

I would absolutely suggest scheduling an appointment to discuss this with your doctor. Tell him that your pain has increased and that the medication has decreased. Don't tell him you took more, just that there was more pain with what you were taking.
I went through this with my knee and went from 7.5 norco to 10 endorcet within a couple months. Sound very innocent and unknowing about opiates.
In the end though, it comes down to your doctor...i think mine was drunk half the time i saw her...not kidding.

Nahh obviously you need a stronger strength if you gotta take that many get rid of pain. Are you sureee you're not just taking a bunch to just feel nice N' high? When I had some bad back pain and got a hold of a few oxys, pain may of hurt a little less but was still there, I was just so high my mind was on other things then thinking about pain.

Lol, nah it really is a problem. I go to physical therapy too along with seeing the general doctor. My upper half of my body is so fucked. One of my ribs is bent some weird way and is pushing on my sternum. Another rib goes too far into my back and is pushing on something back there. And my scapula's are two different sizes, very noticeably...my muscles that connect my jaw to my neck go way to fuck too far up too. So like all of this is fucking with me right now and just making me in a lot of pain. My shoulder is the worst though.

I put icy hot on it every night after work and it helps a little, I take my Valium too (prescribed). But I'm only supposed to take 2 Vicodin a day now, instead of 1-2 every 4 hours as needed. I told him the pain was worse but he said he didn't want me to become dependent on them...so I'm like wtf though. I understand his point but I'm in pain. And work doesn't help the situation, even driving is a bitch...my sex life is being affected by this, lol. So that's when I know it's bad. At work I actually sweat and get really warm from the pain I'm in. My boss let me go home the other night cause she said it felt like I was burning up.
