Am I having an lsd flashback or nicotine withdrawl? or worse...
First off, I know this post might belong in head shrinkers but I believe I'll get a better response here since this forum is full of intelligent people.
Ok first off I'm not on any drugs or medication and the last time was weed 2 days ago. So I'm at Borders studying and am having a difficult time concentrating. I'm getting sweaty, my feet are tapping and in general the act of flipping pages is becoming difficult for me. All of a sudden I lose all types of concentration. The people across the table from me are talking and there voices become really loud and thats all my brain really focuses on. I then look across the table and stare at a carrot cake and my brain becomes obsessed with its layers.
Then I look far yonder and focus on a guy drinking and starting to picture a ghost standing by the steps. I decide to leave because shits messed up. So I go to mcdonolds and order some food and can't stare at some people for more then 2 seconds without getting weird thoughts. I stumbled and fumbled verbally trying to order. As I walk home it seemed like everything I was looking at suddenly became animated. This blue chevy I imagined talking like in the movie cars. A cigarette on the ground caused my brain to imagine it flicking up at me and in my eye. A car turning another direction caused me to think it was coming at me. A clothing store bag made me imagine the handles were dancing back n forth. I feel extremely disconnected from the world right now.
The reason why I'm wondering if its an lsd flashback is this was how I felt when I was on shrooms and lsd. But im also not a regular nicotine smoker however I smoked one yesterday and ever since this has happened im kind of craving one right now. I only smoke to help me study and before the cig yesterday the last one I had was like two months ago. So I don't know what nicotine withdrawls are like and am wondering if maybe im experiencing them right now. Anyone familiar with whats wrong with me? Btw the last time I did was LSD was over 1.5 years ago. Shrooms about 1.8 years. Ty for readin

Fuck off, I've been here longer then you and I apologize for not being a recreational drug connoisseur such as yourself.

Re: Am I having an lsd flashback or nicotine withdrawl? or worse...
I highly doubt something like that would come from nicotine withdraw. I'm a rather heavy smoker and have gone without..but that shit's on another level all together.
It could very possibly be a flashback since you said it was something similar to what you experienced whilst tripping.
The mind experiences amazing things on hallucinogens/psychoactives...things only attainable through those means. Therefore the memories of such things (when the mind truly hearkens back to the experience) has a greater effect on the memory process of the mind.
Has this happened more than once? Are you feeling strange since it happened or did everything go back to normal?
my time here is irrelevant to the fact that you come across as a complete dumb ass.
I agree that the time people have been here doesn't matter...but how did he come across as a dumb ass? He has a question that he couldn't answer. Know how those kinds of problems are solved?
You ask.

Re: Am I having an lsd flashback or nicotine withdrawl? or worse...
Huffing Raid should solve your problem.
...but seriously. You're obviously studying something that you don't feel like focusing on so your mind is going into some very odd places causing you to get mentally distressed...and if Borders is stressful on you mentally, maybe you should seek some psychiatric care. If that is how you felt on LSD and Mushrooms, then maybe you should stay away from psychedelics...and likely all drugs entirely.
OR else you're going to get pumped full of Thorazine and locked in an "I love me" Jacket.
How often do shenanigans like this happen to you?

Never happened before. Things like this don't happen when I'm high either. It really hasn't changed except sound (anything from music to talking) is bugging me out. Talking to myself and listening to anything makes me feel really weird.
I wish I could describe it but its hard. I just feel like everything is off right now. Like Im looking at my tiny white board across the room and can't help but notice the large capital D's and horrible pensminship of mine. I got this book with a women on it and i'm picturing her talking and moving. This is what it felt like me for on LSD.
Last week when I tried falling a sleep I kept hearing a curly haired women screaming but I always hear voices and shit right before I drift off. I think its my subconscious turning on. I'm also hearing a shit load of voices but I'm telling them to fuck off and that seems to work.
And to puck, these states have never happened before. Thanks for the replies guys

Sounds a bit more intense then any flash back I've ever heard of, I doubt that's from nicotine cravings either, you might wana look into seeing a psychiatrist or doctor about that if it continues happening.

POST
Well, that is pretty weird. Have you/your parents ever worried that you may have OCD? Obsessive Complusive Disorder. Some of the things you describe seem to run along those lines...but i'm not entirely sure if it can just surface all of a sudden. Have you felt the need for things to be a certain way (even small things) or it bugs the shit out of you?
There's definitely something weird going on and as I stated it has nothing to do with nicotine w/d.

Re: Am I having an lsd flashback or nicotine withdrawl? or worse...
So you're hearing voices and you always hear voices as your ego is shutting off as you drift off to sleep? Either this odd daydream you're having is a one time occurance or you're slowly falling into the grips of Paranoid Schizophrenia. However it could be Anxiety from studying or some gay angsty shit like that.
Some random DSM Index Crap.

when i was kid in the backseat when my parents were driving I remember always clucking or tapping my finger right before we would pass a palm tree or shadow on the ground. As for ocd, I always triple/quadruple check my alarm before I go to bed. My perception of OCD comes from an mtv truelife documentary which showed them all as neat freaks who organize the placment of everything in their room. I'm not a neat freak my room is messy and objects are scattered.
And puck, I guess it could be Paranoid Schizophrenia. But I thought its normal to hear voices seconds before you crash? anyway i think its just anxiety. I've been stressed out over these cunt professors of mine.

I know the True Life your talking about..but OCD doesn't present itself the same way in everyone. In fact what you described does seem like you may have it after all. Are you in alot of stressful situations lately? If so the anxiety could be bringing the ticks or your underlying OCD to the surface.
I would suggest doing some google surfing on the subject, hit an OCD forum or two and see if any of it hits home with you. Seems to be a logical explanation for what you've been describing being bothered by small insignificant things and having sounds and colors "pop" on and off. There is definitely something wrong.

Re: Am I having an lsd flashback or nicotine withdrawl? or worse...
It's most likely just anxiety. Until you're having balls to the walls paranoid delusions, I wouldn't worry about going to see a psychiatrist or schizophrenia or any of that bullshit. You're just feeling uncomfortable in your classes.
If you do end up seeing a shrink, don't tell them that you've done any psychedelic drugs under ANY circumstance. That is almost an automatic diagnosis of some really intense mental disorder with a lot of shitty drugs that are literally mental straight jackets. I have a couple friends that got mis-diagnosed as paranoid schizophrenics (due to LSD use) when they, most definitely, aren't.
Psychiatrists are the Pharmaceutical Companies (and Society's) cock sucking slaves. The whole system needs a Psychedelic Renaissance, if you ask me.

Re: Am I having an lsd flashback or nicotine withdrawl? or worse...
So I'm at Borders studying and am having a difficult time concentrating.
Crap for noradrenaline. Check.
Last week when I tried falling a sleep I kept hearing a curly haired women screaming but I always hear voices and shit right before I drift off.
Really high dopamine. Check.
I then look across the table and stare at a carrot cake and my brain becomes obsessed with its layers.
Really wierd 5HT2A signalling in the visual cortex. Check.
when i was kid in the backseat when my parents were driving I remember always clucking or tapping my finger right before we would pass a palm tree or shadow on the ground.
The former due to preexisting mental illness. Check.
I only smoke to help me study
...and with catecholamine-deficiency preexisting mental illnesses to go with the 5HT2A-dependent preexisting mental illnesses. Yay.
this was how I felt when I was on shrooms and lsd.
Said preexisting mental illness either causes extremely atypical reactions to psychedelics, or you've been eating wet portabello. Or both. Check.
...anyways... there is very little here that doesn't fall within your preestablished mental disorders, honestly. Try eating some vitamin C and drinking a cup of coffee, or anything else with nondepletory adrenomimetic potential.
Just because you're my guinea pig. Oh, yeah, and to alter that issue with focus and concentration. Which is probably fucking up your trip quite a bit.
Congrats. Your ADD is crashing. Quit trying to use tobacco as amphetamines, 'cause it's probably not helping you.

I don't understand any of the medical terms you used but are you telling me I have ADD and various mental illnesses?
A day later I can't tell how I feel right now. I don't feel normal but I don't feel like i'm tripping. Everything just seems... off? Its almost as if I'm seeing the world and objects from a whole new perspective. Not some enlightened greater gain of knowledge perspective but just a different view.
But shit it took me a little to comprehend the statement Try eating some vitamin C and drinking a cup of coffee, or anything else with nondepletory adrenomimetic potential. Just because you're my guinea pig. Oh, yeah, and to alter that issue with focus and concentration.
Its fucking weird. and btw I take a multivitamin every day and drink coffee before I study. Doesn't really help. I was actually thinking coffee might be the antagonist thats causing my concentration to yonder elsewhere on to prestigious topics such as the layers of carrot cake.

Why no - only a professional, who has actually seen you in person, can make a medical diagnosis.
I just told you that your described symptoms are associated with specific neurochemical and receptor variances which have been classified. Slight but important difference.
A day later I can't tell how I feel right now. I don't feel normal but I don't feel like i'm tripping. Everything just seems... off?
Well, glad to hear that the situational biochemical stressor has a half-life.
and btw I take a multivitamin every day
Sweet. The ascorbate was noted as a potentiator of adrenal synthesis, actually, and was specific rather than general.
and drink coffee before I study. Doesn't really help.
I was actually thinking "to counteract symptomology concurrent with the cessation of activation of the locus ceruleanis, as an abortative immediately prior to full symptomology" - you're the last person in the world to want to aqquire caffine-related rebound adrenal deficit fatigue when you don't have an immediate medical use for the stuff, probably.
I was actually thinking coffee might be the antagonist thats causing my concentration to yonder elsewhere on to prestigious topics such as the layers of carrot cake.
lol...
...wouldn't happen to be the day after or so, would it?

Re: Am I having an lsd flashback or nicotine withdrawl? or worse...
How are you sleeping? Lack of sleep...too much sleep can mess with your head.
You said you drink coffee before studying but do you drink a lot of fluids during the day? Cause coffee is a diuretic and you could have been dehydrated. Especially if it's been really hot where you live.
Your eating habits too. You said you went to McD's but you were seeing things before you went...glucose levels low possibly.
I don't know these are all stabs in the dark, just stuff to think about I suppose.
I would say to drink a lot of water, lay off coffee, eat regularly and balanced meals for a while, get a good amount of rest, and no drugs and see how you feel. If it happens again even with doing all that then I would go see a doctor. Best of luck.
