Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default second thoughts on Obama

I've been watching the news more recently, usually I dont, because fox news kisses the republicans ass, and all the other news networks do the same with democrats.

But i despise Obama so much because of how the majority of the media pushes him, and his idiotic supporters. After seeing Palin, I actually started pulling for the republicans. Before I wanted Obama to win just because I wanted to see him get shot. But I saw him coming out of the Oreily interview, and he looked kind of beat down. Then I saw the Oreily interview, and I dont think he's like I thought. While voting for the patriot act, and hr1955 cant be forgiven, he isn't as pro-war as I thought. He tries to talk tough about Iran and Russia, but it was obvious he wouldn't do shit to either of them and I support Iran and Russia.

And as much as I liked Palin, and as much as I would like to fuck her, Mccain tonight completely fucked it up. Hearing about his "humanitarian" wife (throws up) and his BS about race, and war, I'm back to being neutral. Palin isn't a typical politician yet because she hasn't got the chance to be.

I'm actually as close to feeling sorry for Obama as possible (still not though) but if he wins, I'm about 90% sure he will be killed because he's black, but every white person should be supporting Russia, and Obama I think is best for russia, and every anti-zionist should be supporting Iran and Obama would be best for them too (mainly because he came off as a push over).

EDIT: also "domestic terrorism" from the right was heavy in the 90's because of Bill clinton promoting race mixing, but regardless of Obamas views, he doesn't seem like the type to try to cause trouble on purpose. Just like the media actually got me liking Mccain after he picked Sarah Palin (because of how much the media hated her) they are really responsible for me hating Obama so much, them and all the idiots who support him for no reason. Any sympathy I would have had for him will be gone the next time I turn on CNN.

Show me exactly what his vauge ideals of "change" really are and show me how exactly is he going to give us energy independence like he always claims. He never goes in depth and it's a shame his supporters must fill in the gaps for him. Now I just wait to see how many vauge statements you can make on the matter.

Angry Re: second thoughts on Obama

Everyone has the same stupid complaints in every stupid thread...

When is everyone going to realize that the problem (of change) isn't within the candidates but within the system?????

You can't advocate radical change in a democratic system with electoral votes and expect to get elected...

Mah john McCain is just like bush, bah Obama just says change but wont do anything, they both suck.

NO. The people suck, the people are the ones who lack the knowledge and ability to understand political theory enough to actually support a candidate who will really change things (i.e. independents)

Who the fuck do you think puts these people in power? Everyone mistakes the effect for the cause.

Stupid people put stupid politicians in power and blame the politicians. Yeah, makes perfect sense

Even if people did have the knowledge and ability to know who would actually change things, an election in which 120 million people participate is going to be won by the candidate who appeals to the greatest number of people and offends the fewest.

Unfortunately, a person who is entirely honest and omits nothing in laying out their intentions doesn't stand a fucking chance in an American presidential election, and so long as you have as many people voting as we do, with as many diverse opinions as they have (despite the efforts of the media and political parties) that's how it's going to stay.

It's like a large group of people voting on what kind of pizza to get (assume you can't order multiple pizzas, just one really big one). You're going to have people who want anchovies, people who hate anchovies, people who want pepperoni, vegetarians, etc., and in the end you're going to wind up with plain cheese if they're in a cooperative mood, or at most a topping that a large number like and fewer have a problem with. It's a statistical event. The only real decisions are made by the pizza place when they decide what their menu is going to be like, which is, in their defense, largely motivated by what they think people will be willing to buy.

Palin has got to be the worst person McCunt could have picked. At lest if he picked Romney he would have gotten to the debates before getting torn to bits. The media wouldn't care much that he wears magic underwear until right before the Big Fifth. Every day since Palin was chosen its been one shitstorm after another.

Question Re: second thoughts on Obama

Sounds like you make your decisions based on news commentary. Whoever's out of favor, you're in favor of.

That's uh... weird, but unfortunately not unusual.
