My weird sleep experiment results
Not sure if this goes in BLTC, but I suppose it can kind of go with experiences and DMT maybe.
Anywho I wanted to try some lucid dreaming experiments, so I downloaded the old brainwave generator I'd played with years before and listened to the "Lucid Dreaming" frequency for 30 minutes. I wasn't expecting that to do much but I made a loop of a beep that went off ever 3-4 seconds so when I fell asleep I would know I was asleep. I made it just loud enough so I could hear it but it hopefully wouldn't stop me from falling asleep.
I was pretty tired, put on my big ole' headphones, and started the process.
I laid there for about 1 hours with my eyes closed, trying to get to sleep. I was so calm and peaceful during the hour and wasn't sure how long time was passing. I kept thinking about transferring over into the dream world, and it SO closely almost happened. After almost 2 hours of continuous laying still with my eyes closed trying to get to sleep, I was oh so close to dreaming and being aware of it. I could feel it. I know you dream during the REM portion of sleep, but I felt like I was floating almost, but the one thing stopping me from crossing over was the fact that I was thinking about the beep. I was also wonder if my eyes were going back and forth really fast (REM) It was like I was about to fly out of this world and I was chained down by the thought of it. No matter how hard I tried to not think about it I couldn't go all the way.
I felt like I dreamed something random for a minute as well, but I couldn't tell, as I opened my eyes shortly after, not sure if it was voluntary. I needed to get some real sleep and cut everything off and went to bed with no other dreams and woke up normal.
This was like 3 months ago. Don't know why I decided to post it. Anybody else tried anything like this?

Re: My weird sleep experiment results
I didn't nearly take it as far as you in preparation but mine was also an accident. I leave the television on sometime when I sleep and whatever is on gets wrapped into my dreams and sometime I realize I'm dreaming during this.
I've also accidentally pulled this off with cyclobenzaprine. I was prescribed it for my hip because my body now favors on of my feet since I broke my ankle. Anyway I remember one time where I was in this weird world of stripped neon colors but with almost a Samurai Jack feel to my purpose. It was awesome. I got to play one bad ass super something in my dreams and it was one of the few things that satisfied my lust for power briefly...
