Default Anne Rice

I'm just about to finish Interview with the Vampire and I must say that I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I've never been one for this genre of book but she writes about it in such a way that it's hard to not get totally sucked into it. My girlfriend is a big fan of these books and has said that The Vampire Lestat is even better and by the size of it, it's looking like it will be quite epic.

I imagine this topic will have been covered on here before but I can't find any threads. Any thoughts? Fans or haters? The Vampire Chronicles seem to have a cult following of their own after research online. Any favourite ones to the series?

They're solid stories, but I'll never forgive Anne Rice for turning vampires gay. If you talk to fans of the books, there's a pretty good chance that they're gay or a woman.

I think Blood and Gold was the best read.

I'm a fan, and I'm not gay or a woman lol.

The Vampire Lestat is definatly better, alot more story to it and covers more time periods.

My advice would be to avoid Queen of the Damned, the film is terrible, and the book is just as bad.

I remember when IWTV was being filmed, Rice was onset making sure they didn't fuck it up. Why didn't she do that with QOTD? That movie was atrocious.

Memnoch the Devil was one of my favorites.
