Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default Why did Ron Paul quit?

Hi all. I apologize in advance if this topic has been done before/been answered before however I haven't frequented the politics forum in quite a while.

Can someone tell me why Ron Paul pulled out of the race?

Although he has dropped out of the race, he hasn't really quit. He just held a counter convention to the GOP convention. I have watch the GOP convention so far. Comparing it to the Democratic convention makes it look pretty depressing. During the primaries, one of the main things the GOP candidates said they wanted to run on was optimism. I didn't see a lot of that at the GOP convention. But from what I've seen in pictures, it seems like Paul's counter convention was much like the Democratic convention. Just not as many people.

Ron Paul didn't quit. I'm sure he considered his campaign quite the success. He got more recognition than a true right-wing libertarian has gotten in quite some time just because he threw his hat into the ring in one of the major parties. I'm sure he plans to come away from this election with a new base that, he probably believes, will allow him to begin building a true coalition for that part of the political spectrum that doesn't get a lot of play in this country.

Kinda like Obi-Wan.

His campaign dies.
But his voice and beliefs come back stronger then anyone imagined.

i know this is gonna sound like I am being hostile, but I really am not.

Why do you put Israel words in your siggy, in other words, why do you identify with a foreign culture/country, when you are an American?

He is Jewish...

This does suggest an unwillingness to intergrate into a culture fully, which has been brought up every since Jews lived amongst other cultures.

This phenomenon was coined "the Jewish question" and one very demented person had a "final solution" to this question.

If you study Judaism for a length of time, you find out exactly what kind of racism and elitism that religion fosters.

Before anyone accuses me of being an anti-semite, nazi sympathizer or anything else, I am not. Just pointing out the facts of yet another bullshit religion.
