Default Is Labor Day essentially a capitalist May Day?

I was thinking that today while hanging out with some buddies. Basic question is the thread title. What do you guys think?

Yeah. We can't have it on May 1st b/c then we would look like we are supporting the commies.

If a capitalist is defined as someone who makes money by letting others do the work for them, then no, I wouldn't agree. Labor Day is in honor of the workers, not the bosses.
