I'd like to buy me a bottle...I know the rule on sources but absinthe is now legal in most countries, and the U.S. doesn't enforce it's ancient laws so I was wondering, what's the best bottle of absinthe and where can I buy it? Thanks.

You can now buy it from some liquor stores and companies online, but they contain little to know thujone.

They all claim to be strong due to high wormwood content, but fail to discuss the removal of thujone.

I got lucky on the other hand and got a litre of real Absinthe while on vacation in St. Lucia.

I don't know the laws regarding it there, but it was the only place (7 islands) I visited that sold it.

It really is quite bitter, but I found using the traditional method of slotted spoon and sugar cubes really helps out.

I'm aware of this, but I read in an American magazine called Maxim that you can still order them online and customs aren't going to bother you. They are just too lazy to lift the ban on a law that's existed for over 100 years...they haven't touched the law, they're just working around it. But, they (in the magazine) said they ordered it no problems from other foreign dispensaries which is what I would like to do. In the magazine I'm thinking they said the Czech stuff was the best...I donno though. I'm looking for legal online sources to buy absinthe, the best kind. Apparently they'll ship to the U.S. almost always no problems.

60% is not impressive. I had a bottle of 80% stuff a while back.

My friend got some at Home Depot.

I drank some from a bottle that was 89.9% made my face and neck feel really hot for a few minutes every time after a sip. I never got any visual effects from it but it was some damn strong alcohol.

I got mine in Spain at a market, but I don't think they have the internet is Spain so I can't "link you to a fucking bottle". Mine only cost 20 euro.

I can recommend La Muse Verte speciale (http://www.eabsinthe.com/images/french-muse.jpg) as it goes quite well with lemonade. Most absinthe tastes like aniseed though and if you spill it on yourself, it'll smell for hours or even days if on your clothes.

It still has that smooth licorice taste but blows your face off at the same time. As I said before I had no effects other then the alcohol ones
