| Cellular Mods Your cell phone is really just a specialized computer with a wireless network connection. It has the software that your cellular provider has picked for you, but their software sucks. Why not replace what they give you with better software that has more features? |

Found Motorola RAZR v3c
I plan on modding it visually for use as a 'fuck-around-phone'.
What I've found out about it so far is that it is a Virgin Mobile prepaid phone.
I don't know anything about unlocking (if I even need to at all) but what I basically want to do is make this phone mine.
Is there like a reset button on these things or what do I have to do?

Re: Found Motorola RAZR v3c
This guide is based on luck mostly.... I would normally only put the first step until finding out if you meet condition #1, but this can be used by others in the future. It's only for informational purposes on CDMA phones.
1) Look through the contacts. Look for a number that says "home", "mom" or "dad". If you have that, reverse search the number on 411.ca. Write down the address.
2) After finding the name, hope the fathers/mothers name is on the account. Phone in, tell them you're giving the phone to a friend, by the name of (insert any name here). If it's a prepaid phone, they will tell you the new user needs to phone in to accept the transfer. Wait about ten minutes, and phone in to transfer. Keep in mind you don't need to use your real name.
3) Perform a master reset on the phone to clear it. You can usually find it in Menu --> Settings --> Security or just fool around and find it.
4) Phone back into customer service. Let them know you did a reset and your phone isn't working now. Tell them a friend informed you that it might need to be reprogrammed, ask them to assist you over the phone.
5) This is the fun part. Write down all the steps and numbers. They are going to ask you to put a # # (insert about 5 numbers here) in, then the phone will ask you for a code. They won't tell you this, but this is the master unlock code that can actually be used to program any phone number in. Depending on the phone company (I have not confirmed this for Virgin), you can pretty much program any number into the phone you wish.

Re: Found Motorola RAZR v3c
Gay man? Not necessarily. I'm sure if you're an only male child, your mom could put "Son" in place of her name, and "dad" for your grandpa.
Also, most gay men don't seem to have children.
You really shouldn't have told customer service. When Bell or Rogers gets a call like that, they are to suspend the phone immediately with no questions asked.
If you try to start the phone again, they will likely ask you to go to the store. There you will be asked for 1-2 pieces of ID, which won't match the phones owner. They will then ask to see the phone, and not give it back.

Re: Found Motorola RAZR v3c
Well I'm not exactly going to approach them saying it is in fact my phone. If they call me in, I'll say wipe this phone for my use or I will snap it in half and leave it on your floor.
Thing is, I really don't care about the outcome of this mobile. I just liked the idea of having a phone I really don't have to take care of.

Re: Found Motorola RAZR v3c
Depending on the number of contacts, you should be able to just go through and delete the contacts and change other settings yourself. Might be a bit more productive than snapping it in half.
You could always access the mobile internet to screw the person over. Access it a lot and you get into a large negative balance. If the person is stupid they will pay it off.

It's got no credit. Expired a while ago.
Plus, practically everything passworded.
If Virgin can't wipe it, there's no use keeping it.

When I had that phone, I installed a bluetooth "hacking" program.
I also made it so I could upload my own ring tones.
What do you want to do? What network?
