Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default Isn't the opposite also true?

Since when did drawing large crowds, inspiring people, having a commanding stage presence, and charisma become a bad thing?

"He is a rockstar, lets equate him to Paris Hilton".

Since when did being elite, going to Harvard, graduating top of the class, traveling the world, become a negative thing?

"Obama is an elitist"

----

Rocking out a town hall meeting is nothing to brag about when compared to drawing a crowd of 80,000 and delivering a truly amazing inspiring speech.

Graduating at the fucking BOTTOM of your class (McCain) is a bad thing.

----

Be realistic.

Giving a speech full of lies about McCain wanting to privatize Social Security doesn't qualify you to be President.

I would rather a Presidential candidate go to town halls and answer real peoples' questions rather than reading off a teleprompter. Obama can give a speech but that doesn't mean his Presidency isn't going to be a fucking disaster.

Not talking about the content of his speech, and neither does the McCain camp when they compare him to a celebrity or rockstar.

You feel it is better to talk to small town folk in a town hall, or draw, address and inspire crowds of hundreds of thousands...fine.

Just saying being able to draw large crowds and deliver an outstanding speech is a good thing. Won't you agree?

-----

I wouldn't have addressed the top of the class, bottom of the class thing either if I were a McCain fan.

It's a useful quality to have, but it's really not something I demand from a president. In a real politik sort of way, it's important for getting elected but it offers more style than subtance.

I'm not defending McCain in any way, though. He really has nothing on Obama; all of his attacks are moot points and hypocrisy.

Not necessarily a bad thing, but it is bad if he has lost touch with the American people. Going to Germany to speak in front of sell-out crowds doesn't help you to be in touch with the American people, often times however, town hall meetings do.

He talks about "change" and inspires fucking niggers who have no idea what the issues are, and rich liberals who think it's chic and trendy to vote for a black guy, even if they don't even agree with him.

Bottom of his class... at the Naval Academy. That changes things.

Hows this:

If{
Obama = dickweed/moron/idiot
and
McCain = dickweed/moron/idiot
}
We = Royally Screwed

Come on... We all know they both are the last people we would ever want in control, but there are too many idiots in this country for us to make any difference. Besides, ever heard the saying, "Who did your ballot box vote for today?"

Bleh, damn corrupt government, we all know the biggest spenders win, then keep spending on whatever worthless projects they want, and send the country (further) into debt. Or just send everyone with less money into debt...

Oh wait, no it doesn't.

His father and grandfather were both admirals. Somehow I don't think he got there entirely on merit.

Going to Germany to speak in front of sell-out crowds was not an effort to get more in touch with the American people. It in no way suggests he has lost touch with them either.

When the folks at a town hall meeting ask you how many houses you have, and your so stinking rich, you dont have a clue...how in touch are you then?

I am neither rich, liberal, or black. If he was depending solely on blacks, and rich folks, he would not be running neck and neck with McCain in polls, and those MASSIVE crowds would not be nearly so massive.

The crowds of hundreds of thousands in Germany and elsewhere in Europe were not black nor rich liberals.

Your logic utterly fails any test whatsoever, and is dismissed as the nonsensical racist rant it is.

Not sure what you are suggesting here...

Graduating bottom of any school is a failure of performance, plain and simple. It signifies either the student did not care to learn, or was incapable.....either way it is a failure.

Obama is talking like he is trying to be a new Jesus.

"... a light will shine through that window, a beam of light will come down upon you, you will experience an epiphany ... and you will suddenly realize that you must go to the polls and vote for Obama" - Barack Obama

Theres a lot of people following him like its a new religion also.

Saying Americans are bitter gun crazy racists does suggest he's lost touch.

Oh not just black and idiot rich people. But uneducated voters too. Obama is a good speaker however, I'd be willing to bet many of the people he's "inspired" have no idea what the fucking issues even are.

Obviously he has a lot of voters who actually agree with him, but that's not why he's getting as many votes as McCain.

Not necessarily, solely attending the Naval Academy shows a very high level of intelligence and commitment to your country. Staying in shows even more. Obama may be technically "smarter" as in, he got better grades. But you can't overlook the fact that graduating at the top of his class in Harvard isn't so much of an accomplishment, due to affirmative action. Not saying he didn't deserve it, I'm saying we don't know because of affirmative action.

But any attempt to paint McCain as stupid or unwilling to learn completely fails. Why don't you try attending the Naval Academy.
