Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default Are you voting? why or why not?

I'm not. Even the Libertarian is an asshole. Talking about war with Russia. Clearly better than B-rock or Mccain, but not at all worth wasting the time to vote for.

Obama is probably the worst possible leader this country has ever been close to getting (and thats why I kind of would rather him win). He claims to be unlike republicans, but everything I hate about republicans, he's even worse (like big government, and invasion of privacy).

The only difference with Mccain, is I think gas may be cheaper. But I dont care. I hate them all. And if they thought Bob Barr had a chance in hell, he'd just get RonPaul'd.

Let me tell you this one thing involving the decision not to vote. If you don't vote, you can't complain about the winner, regardless of what he does, because you took no action to attempt to stop it.

Thumbs down Re: Are you voting? why or why not?

I'm writing in myself. I've become so disillusioned by our government's actions throughout history that I cannot in good conscience support any candidate.

Even my man Ron Paul embraced ass-backwards economic philosophy.

When someone stands for change (real change, not "Pragmatism We Can Believe In"), they'll have my overwhelming support. Until then, I'm just going to fight for my rights on an immediate local level, because I haven't been able to make any impact on a larger scale.

Yes.

I am voting for someone not friendly with the oil companies for obvious reasons.

I'm too young. But if I could vote, I would sit this one out. I don't think Obama is the antichrist, but that whole FISA bill vote was pretty disgusting. And McCain is a crazy old motherfucker. I just don't see anyone who I can support 100%. And I liked Ron Paul for the most part, but I don't like some of his policies.

Yes, I just got my voter reg card today in the mail. Turns out my voting spot is right down the block, so I would have almost no reason not to vote. Although the idea is tempting at times...

Anyway, I'm still waiting on several different variables before I make my final decision (Hint: It has nothing to do with Obama's "charismatic" speeches).

I'm not sure, because there is no real reason to vote, but then again there hasn't been a reason to vote since the beginning of the 20th century.

"the people" do not make decisions in America. They think they do when the government lets them vote once a year, but that's just the illusion of freedom. We have no real freedom. Corporations own our country. Bankers make all of the decisions. So whoever you vote for, or have the option to vote for, is really just a front man. A puppet. Politicians who would do good get pushed aside, like Paul or Nader.
