Default How much boost?

How much boost could a Honda 1.8L VTEC engine handle in an everyday street driving scenario without upgrading internals etc? Or what would need to be upgraded to run a reasonable boost? I would be happy with 8-10psi with a mostly standard engine for starters if this is possible.

Yes I am thinking of buying an Integra and turbocharging it after driving a couple of rice rockets recently. No I am not the type of fag who puts stickers all over their car and huge wings and fart cans.

I have a British straight six and I will be keeping it. I don't want to get a v8 because of the price of petrol.

The block can't handle any more than around 14psi, and a stock engine I don't know about. I really don't like VTECs.
I'd say 6psi, as a pure guess.

well owning a 6 and a turbo car is just like owning a turboed ten cylinder.

i'd check out a honda forum to find out the definite answer on that, i know a friend of mine used to have a 97 i think, silver civic hatchback, some 16" dark five spokes, decent exhaust, t3/t4 turbo, hondata, internals all done up, and the nicest looking boost gauge / AFR gauge mounted in the console by the tach and speedo, none of that riced out podness there. on race gas he was putting out over 500 fwhp, but kept braking cv joints and transmissions, this thing was a giant slayer, beating modded out mustang cobra's and stuff (the 04 model with the supercharger). i'm sure light boost wont be too much on it, but it matters on what specific motor and what kind of turbo you're planning on using

Thanks. What don't you like about VTECs? Apart from the OMGVTECKICKEDINYO. I think it would be pretty cool to be able to use the car as a fairly economical runabout and then have a more aggressive cam when I let the rpm get higher.

You can't drive them both at the same time so not quite. But the insurance and rego for two would be annoying. Maybe I will garage my six for more slow restoration work.

R8's have more power stock then f6's tho. That guy said it was running three bars more, but i suspect he may have done a little more then that.
