Question on mold(mould) growth in a container...
Hey guys,
I have a question about mold growth. Most people know that if you leave old water inside of a bong, it will get moldy. Now, I can empty the bongwater easily, but the percolator difficult to empty because it's sealed with hot glue. Yes, this is home-made. I made a bong out of a Gatorade Tiger bottle seen here: http://www.bevdignews.com/sitebuilder/images/Gatorade_Tiger_for_web-236x419.jpg
It has a percolator similar to this one: http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/7770/img0117zt2.jpg The percolator is made from a prescription medicine bottle. The blowl can be removed, but the perc has a downtube like a bong instead of a hole in the top. So, it's basically a mini bong with the top sealed and a pen tube... fuck. I'm just gonna draw it for you guys.
Here's the drawing:

I'm concerned about mold growth in the perc, because it will be hard to get out once it forms. I was wondering, if I eliminated the oxygen in the perc, would it inhibit mold growth? Like, if I drew in a flame from a lighter, it would be filled with byproducts of butane combustion, not O2. Would this work?

Add a little Listerine or vodka or something. Not much, because it will dissolve some THC.
Why'd you seal the top? The lids are air-tight.

If you eliminate oxygen from your "perc" (its actually a ashcatcher) you will just introduce more oxygen to the ashcatcher next time you take a hit; defeating the purpose of that. You really should have devised an accessible ashcatcher instead.
