Default astral projection for dummies

Okay, the title is a tad tongue-in-cheek, but I do have a fairly easy and simple way to astral project--assuming you don't mind where you might end up. This is how I do it.

This is based on the fact (theory; delusion; gospel truth--take your pick) that the mind is non-local--that is, it is everywhere at once and nowhere in particular.

Lie down, use earplugs, cover your eyes, and get as comfortable as possible--the idea being to eliminate as many gross sensory impressions as possible.

I do it sometimes when I am in bed and don't feel like going to sleep right away--plus it seems to help being in the hypnogogic state.

Visualize outer space--planets, stars, galaxies, whatever--and direct your attention in a particular direction or toward a specific star or planet.

Then just wait and see what impressions, sights, thoughts, come to mind.

How do you know you're not just imagining what you're seeing? I suppose you could test this, but you'd need the help of other people. Also, from what I've read about remote viewing(it's similar, isn't it?) it's not consistently reliable for some reason.

Hey who cares if it's real or not! It's fucking awesome! I personally believe it's real, and I've read a few convincing studies on the phenomenon.

I also have managed to almost do it myself. I have managed to float out of my body briefly and I can see my room, but once I realize what I'm doing I freak the fuck out and wake up.

I need to get past the freaking out part. Last night I actually thought I was astral projecting but I got too excited and I ended up opening my eyes while still asleep. It was kind of odd. I didn't know my physical eyes were open until I blinked.

Well.. there were studies doen in this subject, forgot the results. Some witnesses claim to receive data (remote viewing, astral projection, same thing) from another building, etc., others can influence people by touching them - supposedly a man named Monroe in this state tried poking one of his friends and after waking up, his friend got a blister where he touched the person.

By imaginng, I assume you mean"making up." In the highest and most esoteric sense, we all make everything up.

This is what was meant in the Vedantas thusly--"We are not in the world; the world is in us."

This is what Jesus meant when he said "The kingdom of God is within you."

Truely, we are as gods--and it bloody well behooves us to start getting good at it.

To be fair there is a differance between manipulating reality and manipulating our perception of reality.

I think.

Edit:That said, I may actually try out what you've said for a while.

once sun tzu dreamed he was a butterfly when he woke he wondered if sun tzu had dreamed he was a butterfly or if the butterfly had dreamed he was sun tzu.

i try to live every moment of my life expecting to wake up any moment

really how so?

if you were entirely cut off from all your senses (no smell, touch, sight, hearing,or taste) that your existence would remain the same

.
You may be right.

If so, however--one) how would you know? and two) what difference would it make?
