Marijuana's Effect on the Ear
I am aware that marijuana decreases intra-ocular pressure, being prescribed for glaucoma, but does it also have an effect on pressure in the ear? and for that matter, what about the sinuses?
the other day after smoking some bowls i felt a sharp sensation in my ears. kinda like when your landing in an airplane and you pop your ears and the feeling eventually goes away. i thought how it could be related to intra-ocular pressure changing effects of marijuana, but then i realized that it decreases the pressure, and the pain felt more like an increase in pressure.
now onto my questions - does a sharp pain like the one described above indicate increased or decreased pressure in the ear? can marijuana cause a decrease or increase in pressure in the ear?
just some thoughts...i guess it doesnt really matter..

Re: Marijuana's Effect on the Ear
You're obviously going deaf. This is why you don't mess with hardcore drugs like marijuana.

Re: Marijuana's Effect on the Ear
it might mean you have an outer ear infection, which is known as swimmers ear. Very painful. i had to have dead skin and puss extracted from my ear. very painful. i seemed to notice that when i smoked during the infection the pain would be increased. so it could change the pressure in your ear, because increased pressure meant increased pain.

Effect on the sinuses makes sense, my nose always runs like a Kenyan when I smoke pot.

Can't say iv ever had any feelings in my ears from smoking weed, that I can remember. Although, I do notice a pressure type of feeling in my head.

Re: Marijuana's Effect on the Ear
i've had extreme ear pain from weed once in my life, but it was crippling pain, i was writhing on the floor for 5 minutes
first time i used a gas mask, took too big of a hit and hilarity ensued for the people i was with
i'd really like to know just what the fuck happened to me, maybe this thread can help

I don't think pot causes that, but check a doctor about your ears.
