2003 I met and went to live with the girlfriend and she was into those computer thingys. She signed me , internet n00b that i was, up for a hotmail account so we could talk while she was a work etc.

Thinking back, it ain't never worked right and now has so much eye candy I get e-diabetes just looking at the screen, Yahfuckinooooooo ain't not much better neither...No i haven't got fucking mail, its called 'spam'.

Been using gmail since it came out. Yeah I know its evil , tracks my every net movement, and knows more about me than the government does. ALthough as my government keeps losing data by leaving it on trains and selling it on ebay, almost anyone now knows more about me than them.

But gmail not only works a staggering 80% of the time but they also keep intregrating new features which i actually like and use. Not sure when I last installed MS-Office, google docs does it for me.

All my other various email accounts from all over the place all forward to my gmail.

EXCEPT hotmail. And that was the final straw...

Only thing i still use my hotmail account for is PayPal and that i can change.

Goodbye hotmail.

I've been using Gmail since it came out a few years ago. It's the only mail I use. I don't care if they track me, not doing anything illegal...or admitting to it through e-mail at least. Can't see myself using any others, cause I've tried...they all suck.

Cause I mean Hotmail is part of all that MSN stuff, and I kind of trust Google more...if I had to choose of 2 evils.

The spam filter on Gmail rocks. IME Very rarely does it miss and even more rarely does it eat something that wasn't spam .

God, that was long ago.

I've used hotmail for totse for a couple of years. Can't say I have many complaints. My main email was on the server of a friend I used to work with in 99. It stopped working a few months ago and now hotmail is my main account.

As much as I hate Ms, it does do what I need for the most part. I do prefer it over gmail, which I also had when it first came out. I tried using it for totse but it didn't wrok with the mailing list [we used to have for Mods].

What's all this about Gmail spying on us?

Anyone ever hook-up Gmail (lets say) to Mozilla Thunderbird instead of Outlook?

I was doing that for a while when I was in college. Gmail has to be the easiest one to set up too, they make it so easy for you, unlike Microsoft where you better set aside a few hours, lol.

I downloaded "Better Gmail 2" for Firefox 3. It's an extension that you download and can customize the way Gmail looks in Firefox and it does some other stuff.

About the Gmail spying thing...it's not really a big deal. I'll use this as an example, when you go to your Spam box take a look at the ads when you go there, it's all recipes for things with Spam (food). It takes keywords from that page or in an e-mail and makes ads around it according to what is said. Also they keep things stored even if you delete it. But who cares, if you're just an average person using e-mail then you have nothing to worry about.
