question about protein shakes
Do they ever give you diarrhea? Ok, heres my story. My freind and I were working out at his house and after he asked me if I wanted a protein shake. I said ok sure. We left for his dads house for 3 days and on the first two I noticied I farted a lot more than usual. I got home sunday night and went to school monday no problem. Its tuesday now and I was just in the bathroom brushing my teeth and I just shit my pants. Do you think it could have been the protein shake, or something else? What could it have been? I have to go to school tomorrow but I dont wanna be known as the kid who shit his pants on the 3rd day of school. Please help.

With a three-day incubation period, it was probably microbial contamination.

Re: question about protein shakes
It's probably the dairy that you (probably) mixed it with.

Re: question about protein shakes
Sometimes i get mad gas. Like ill be passing gas for a straight hour frequently. Then followed by a broken up shit. Gets real bad with casein protein for me.
You'll be alright. Also be cautions as lot of descent protein mixes contain BCAA's, glutamine and other amino acid blends in them. If you take any of those supplements on the side, then drink a protein shake on top of them thatll give your stomach a nice vietnam like rumbling.

Nope, mixed it with water as those were the instructions.
Just to be on the safe side I'm going to eat a lot of cheese.

Food poisoning, not poison food.
You should really learn about the microbiotic theory of illness. It's a fascinating piece of semi-modern information which will change the way you look at food handling and storage.

well, that would depend on your goals. If you were cutting, then I could see water being the better choice. But if you're trying to add mass or lots of strength, then the extra calories, good fat, and protein are just going to help.
And it does taste better.

Re: question about protein shakes

Re: question about protein shakes
It depends what 'protien' you get, theres some shite stuff on the market which is the same price as the decent stuff, i've tried both, one give me the shits and diahorrea, the one i'm on now doesn't.
