Quite an interesting show, and even if you're totally racist against blacks / black comedy, you should check it out. I'm not sure if the writers were trying to oversaturate it with "blackness", but either way, its retarded to such an extent that its quite funny. Plus apparently there's supposed to be some moralistic undertones in each episode, a la South Park.

Yes, they are trying. The plot of the show is all about two black kids from the city who move in with their granddad in a rich, mostly white community. It is through and through a 100% black show, as it is intended to be.
So naturally, a lot of us dumb crackers hate it just for that reason, even though it's one of the classiest and most hilarious shows ever put on the network.

I fucking love that show. The show is well developed and the charlie murphy and samuel L jackson voice overs on Ed and Rummy make the show just that much more funny.

Riley is not gay. He started dressing gay because of the Gangstalicous(sp) clothing line. Every other episode was him trying to be as thug/gangsta as possible in such a white nieghborhood. Hewie is one of the best characters in the show and not because he has a specific laughability to him it's just that every time he speaks it's to voice a serious idea behind the main writer. Notice that he wears a Che esque military shirt on at times. I don't know I just like the show.
