Rewatching this one right now on encore. I saw this in theaters when it was released, and watching it now, I realize how supremely awesome this movie is.

1-You have a staring cast made almost exclusively of character actors, and damn good ones at that. Billy Zane and William Sadler are two of the most underused and underrated actors in the business. Throw in Dick Miller, Jada Pinket (Smith), and Thomas Hayden Church, you got what the refer to in the business as a winner.

2-Special effects. Keep in mind, this was 1995, 13+ years old, and the F/X still stand the test of time. The demons don't look out of place like CGI does, and they genuinely look creepy (Except for the very last one, but hey, they can't all be winners).

3-Story. Not the best, or the most original, but damnit, what it does, it does well. Gotta love that claustrophobic, stuck in here while the monsters from hell are out there type of plot.

4-It's Tales from the Crypt, which speaks for itself really.

I wholeheartedly recommend this to anybody that likes horror movies of any flavor.

Fucking right on man... A classic.
Billy Zane is AWESOME in that film... He craaaazy.
Its funny seeing his role in Titanic as of compared to Demon Knight.
And yes for 1995 that movie had badass special effects... I remember the first time I saw it as a kid.

I remember seeing that movie Tales from The hood in theatres which was pure win.
I was going to rent it last week but none of the Blockbusters around here had it... I was pissed.
Bordello of Blood though wasn't all that great.

Yeah, Bordello was a shit heap, which is why they never released the third one as a tales from the crypt movie.

And Billy Zane did indeed steal the fucking show.

i want to watch the movie goddammit, almost tempted to watch it online but fuck all that.
this is the time netflix would come in handy... i sure do love me some netflix.

i think i am going to go either buy the dvd monday or some hell find the damn film at a blockbuster.
the blockbusters around here suck major ass though.
they should have it at bestbuy though, i'm thinking.

and on a sidenote that would be kickass if they made a third film... and brought the major kickassness with it.
i'd drool all over thyself.

especially when Zane spazes out about the Cowboy shit. hahaha.

They did make a third movie, but Bordello sucked so hard that they cut all the Crypt Keeper scenes out of the third one.

And as for the third film, sounds as of fail... I mean when I get netflix I may rent it for the hell of it.
This guy @ Bestbuy told me they had Tales From The Crypt films back in the 80's as well.

The show started in the 80s and the premier and the next two episodes were presented as a STV movie.

And there was a movie in the 70s but I've only seen it once.

I've never seen any of the movies, but tales from the crypt is an awesome show.
