Seroquel is really not something you want to take on a regular basis. It can lead to some problems..and alot of weight gain as well..but the reason I hate it is just how it made me feel. I've done it around 4 times and have felt dog shit tired for the entire next day/night..and that was even with smaller doses the last two times. Not for me..but to each his own.

Fairly certain it either brought about or aggravated my agoraphobia. I also dream about extremely bizarre and disturbing shit on almost a nightly basis, which goes away if I drink alcohol before sleep.

It's a long story and I don't feel like subjecting everyone to my airing out of dirty laundry etc.

My sister is prescribed Seroquel and she's said the same thing about the dreams. Said she's dreamt of watching her child die and other crazy shit. Not a drug i'd be interested in taking in the long term.

Zombie-Mode is basically what happened to my sis. She's become a different person since she started taking it. She used to be active, thin and loved to go out and hit the lake and ski, go tubing and fish and whatnot. Now she's gained alot of weight, stays depressed and never does a god damn thing. Although people generally control the outcome of their lives this Med had NO good effects on her will, her outlook or her general health.

What does Seroquel (and in essence all the atypical antipsychotics) do?

It restricts the amount of available dopamine and serotonin in the brain. As in, it makes your brain use less.

Now, what do serotonin and dopamine do?

They make you happy, they give you emotion, give you motivation (especially that dopamine).

What do low dopamine and serotonin do? They make you depressed. Notice why people who are depressed get given an SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor)? To make more serotonin available in the brain, or make it available for longer. Or something.

Anyway, unless you are experiencing acute psychosis, there is no need to be taking antipsychotics.

They are also addictive and hard to come off.

Not to mention the fact that they aren't sure of how they work, just that they do.

And they steal your soul and ability to have enjoyment and feel emotional, either happy or sad.

I take 300 mg almost every night and I weigh 155 and Im always active and never depressed also I smoke about a 8th of dank a day. But I am bipolar 1 and have a manic episode almost twice a month. Seroquel has done nothing negative to me yet Ive been taking it off and on for almost 2 years. However my friend took 2 100 tabs and said it made him extremely angry and psychotic. Its worked wonders for me tho.

My friend takes seroquel because he can't sleep without it, the guy's had some problems in his life but his parents used to have him on a bunch of other shit when he was like 12 years old...he seems to be doing alright now but this is years later. Tons of meds+crazy parents ftl.
