Synthetic THC substitute
So, I was talking to a friend a few days back, and he mentions that a guy he knows is doing pharmacology in university, and is looking to sell some relatively unknown research chemical that he's just ordered in from China.
Talking to the guy who was selling it, I was assured that it was similar in effects (and to some degree, structure) to this. The dosage, when vaporised, ranges between 1 and 2 milligrams, basically meaning, the smallest quantity that it's easy to place into a pipe to vape.
The chemical name is: napthalen-1-yl (1-pentyl-1H-indol-3-yl) methanone according to the guy I attained it off. This substance, being structurally distinct to THC, is of questionable legality (meaning most likely not going to cause legal trouble unless it becomes more mainstream) in NZ, with it's present level of unknowness. It's a yellow crystal, which smells slightly plasticy (not very nice tasting smoke either). An image of the substance that I recieved is here: http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q148/dumbrella/DSC02434.jpg
Since getting the substance, I've tried it twice, both with very similar effects to smoking bud. I vapourized it out of a lightbulb vape, but since have purchased a meth pipe (oh the looks from shop owner when I bought that, being 18 and all) From what it's been described to me like, the high off this stuff is more similar to vapeing pure thc crystal (budder), because the other cannabitoids in marijuana change how the high acts (leading to a more strong body high).
The high is very lacking in the body load (stonedness) of smoking weed, and more focussed on the mental side. When I smoke it, I feel extrememly calm and relaxed mentally, but still physically able, and far more coordinated than when normally stoned. The high lasts longer too, I was still feeling strong effects at T+2 hours.
Has anyone here had any experience with similar or the same research chemical? I've been looking over Google, but there really is very little information on chemicals in this family. The guy who I bought it off has developed his own substance, which he intends to get produced by a chemical manufacturer, and market as soon as he can afford to fund it (through selling this stuff).
That's all for now, any questions, ask, I'll do my best to answer. Just thought the community would like some information on this in case anyone else has run across it. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try, as it seems to be very similar in effects to weed, with no noticeable unpleasent side effects

The phuk? Pharmacology students don't get that much chemistry...

I was going to say "no, no it's not," but surprisingly, it was one of the rarer indole derivatives...
Still a few differences. 'n those are interesting...

No. 1-2 milligrams is actually much smaller than that.

'n that pentyl group is one of the difference I was thinking was interesting. It begins to suggest SARs for the indolic cannabinoids...
Of course, those SARs spread a lot of WTF to the rest of the molecule, 'n I'd love to gaze upon the structure of something intelligently designed...

Actually, it's much more legal than most analogues.

Why, no. I've mostly focused on the phenylalkane SARs in cannabinoids.

That is correct.

This frightens me. They don't teach pharmacists... much.
For that matter, as prior mentioned, indolic CBx SARs are... umm... undersufficient in data.
~shrug~ For the good of science!

100 NZD/100mg. that's about half the price per dose of mid quality weed here. Expensive, I know...

That was slightly ambiguous in my case. The amount I vapourised was probably less than 100th of the total amount I bought (100mg). I didn't measure it though, my scales are only accurate to +-1mg.

Again, my ambiguity. I was meaning questionably so, as in 2C-X or DMT's are unquestioanlbly illegal here, with reasonably strict structural analogue laws.

Yeah, I'm not too sure about continuous use of this stuff. As for his chemistry ability, he has studied a fair bit of chemistry at high school, independently as well as Cambridge A2 level (year 13). He doesn't seem to have much idea of how safe or unsafe the compound is. As you say, it's pretty well untested.

Actually, that reminds me, a fair amount of pupil dialation was noticed, I was much more sensitive to light and less ability to focus my eyes properly, along with normal red eyes. I never get cottonmouth, so it'd be difficult to quantify the second part. After exams which are on for the next week and a half, I'm going to let a few of my friends try the substance, and get some more opinions.

I wonder if this would be of any use intranasally. Is being water soluable the only necessary quality to be administered this way?

For the record:
100mg = 100 New Zealand dollars = 70.57 U.S. dollars
Shit. I'd pay that for 50+ doses.

I searched for the chemical name but nothing came up.
When I searched the "PNI" abbreviation on the bag i found...

|
Seems possible this substance could be a research chemical for Psychoneuroimmunology

Send me an email on dumbrella.um@hotmail.com, and I'll get back to you on msn or something.
I don't use it normally, but I'm not keen on half of totse spamming my msn address/regular email.
As for prices, yeah, this stuff is pretty cheap per dose. Sadly, being untested to the most part, I'm really pretty hesitent to use it daily like I would bud...

@OP:
Your friend is a liar and you are retarded for believing him. WTF?
He is probally ordering CP, the most mainstream THC analouge their is in which 2 mainstream vendors sell it, one from China.
He probally researched different analouges and looked for the most obscure one, told you that he synthesized it before anyone else to sound cool.
At best, he might have recieved a slightly less popular THC analouge, but not an unheard one nonetheless.
CP is fun, I've done it once and is EXACTLY like what you described.

Thanks. how exactly is it retarded to think that someone is selling me the RC that he tells me he is, especially someone who is a good friend of someone I've known for years, and has been known to get rather hard to find chemicals online in the past?
He probally researched different analouges and looked for the most obscure one, told you that he synthesized it before anyone else to sound cool.
Again, any basis in fact, other than you thinking New arrival = full of shit? Also, where did I mention that he synthed it. He ordered it off a supplier.
CP is fun

you can still get pretty fucking close with a syringe and a known amount of liquid....
disolve it in a known amount of non polar solvent, put known amount of chem into a known amount of solvent, and with a measuring device like a syringe you can pretty accurately dose on micro gram levels...
and if you had it all disolved, and your really wanting to vape/smoke it, you could drip the appropriate amount onto some bud... lace it with your drugs...

Sweet, a new arrival who brings to the table.
What consistency is this chem anyway? Is it anything like honey oil? It looks like graham cracker crumbs.

I get the feeling some moisture has been introduced and caused it to clump up. Looking at the larger lumps in the bag, it looks like the colour/consistency varys from kind of chalky to crystilline. The colour isn't really very consistent either (maybe not entirely pure...)

CP 55,940, is a cannabinoid which mimics the effects of naturally occurring THC...CP 55,940 is 45 times more potent than Δ9-THC.
