Ever since this one time about a year and a half ago, crazy things happen when I smoke pot. The first time it happened, my buddy and I were ripping a bowl in my car while cruising around the suburbs. I stopped at a stop sign, toked the bowl, and coughed my ass off. It was some lemon-skunk type shit. After a couple good coughs, my vision went blurry and I heard a buzzing sound like a cicada (you know, that gayass fly).

Now, however, the effects are even more intense. Even with poopy weed, it happens. When I smoke some chronic, it's like my head is a gong and someone just fucking hit me with a mallet. Then it's sounds like "OM" with some distortion/reverb. This is fucking LOUD, guys. Vibrations go from my dome to my extremeties and back like a Slinky. Vision is like a tunnel and blurry - but sometimes kaleidoscopic. I can't speak at all or think, just emotion.

Anyone experience this before? Is this dissociation or ego death? This happens like 6/10 times that I smoke, as long as it's potent or I take the first, green hit. All kinds of bud, different dealers and methods have done this.

Just sounds like you have a very low tolerance for it ..

Yeah, I'd say you've either been getting a bunch of psychadellicly stong weed, or you've got a really low tolerance.

I get the 'om' and buzzing at higher doses and when I used to 'relax' in my head.. it's a state of mind so it's hard to explain.

Essentially I'd say that's just how weed affects you.

this thread disappointed, I got all excited when i saw the title because i thought someone else made the observation that crazy shit happens when you smoke weed that isnt related to the fact that your high. the world just saves all its crazy oddities for the moment you finish smoking

Do you have any problems with your thyroid or tachycardia of some kind? Sometimes when I smoke I get a heartbeat of around 190-200 and my ears burn/ring quite a bit. It's in no way pleasant. Next time it happens, take your pulse. If it's racing you may need to see a doc about Tachycardia.

I also lol'ed at the "getting wet" remark, as it was inevitable. Anyway, it's not really a tolerance thing per se. I've been smoking almost every day for the past four years, so this is kind of a recent phenomenon. If I don't cough and trip balls, then I get a "normal" high. If I do trip, and then try to smoke more after I come down, it has no effect. Maybe I have a weird brain chemistry. I know people who were a little bit off, weird shit started happening to them but they kept on using, they had an episode, and now they're miserable and on antipsychotics.

There's schizophrenia in my family, and after doing 3 GOOD Es w\ no tolerance in early June, I've suffered from GAD and Panic disorder.

I got prescribed paxil, but I never filled the script b\c I really was afraid if I got on it, I never would come off.

Fucking sucks.

It's going away little by little, now it barely bothers me, but for the first month and a half, it was incredibly disrupting. I had to quit my job, and went to Maine for a month just to recollect myself.

Now I feel much better, but needless to say it was a HUGE disruption, and on the cost\benefit scale, ridiculously unprofitable.

I know weed is on a different level than MDMA, but just keep it in mind.

I know the feeling you were describing visually for both, and I can imagine sounds attributed to that would be similar to what you heard. Like with the 'gong' feeling, usually comes with some really nice headies-type weed, and it really does feel like you're a gong, and if you think that's what you feel like, with Synesthesia, you might actually hear it.

I dont mean to criticize, but schizo-affective is a combination of bipolar and schizophrenia, so you cant exactly be schizoaffective AND bipolar and schizophrenic, those are just a part of schizoaffective.


also the reason for all this is pretty obvious. youre schizoaffective, the weed is amplifying it, and its amplifying the weed. Try smoking less...

also, my girlfriend has all those disorders too, diagnosed over time be several doctors. she doesnt smoke though, I dont want things to worsen, she hallucinates enough as it is.

I get similar shit I think and was also wondering what was going on. I usually get these giant headrushes and my vision just fades into a white. I usually hear a similar sound to the one you get from doing dust off (the weird helicopter rotor sound?). It sucks because it happens randomly and it's not even after I smoke more than I can handle.

Just for a note I don't think it's the weed itself doing this I think the weed is making some other problem more noticeable or something like that.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that my hands will lose feeling or get a buzzing feeling and I sometimes start shaking and sweating.

I get a high heart rate after drinking, a small amount too. Like if I have 2 glasses of wine I get a really high heart rate. As well the doctor though I might have a thyroid problem, but he said it was the high side of the normal range. Is it possible I have tachycardia?

I get a high heart rate after toking up too. I've never actually taken my heart rate at that time though, I always feel like if I actually know how fast my heart is beating, I will freak the fuck out. Thats what studying medical shit does to you man, you freak out about the tiniest fucking symptom of something. Usually I stick by the idea that my heart is beating faster because I don't have enough oxygen or some shit like that, so taking a few deep breaths usually slows it down.

As for the buzzing sound... I've never had that, but I do sometimes get this like... thronging effect. I don't know if thats a word but fuck it. Its like someone has hit a gong and im getting the after effects of it. Usually right at the back of my head, down where it meets the neck, so in the brain stem I would say. Personally I love that feeling.

It happened to me once when I was SO stoned and had to take a shit, I literally pulled up to the Mickey D's, hopped out with it running and let my friend park it.

i get in the bathroom, and some asshole is in the stall on the PHONE.

i sucked it up for like 10 min, leaning against the wall, when all of a sudden i got something similar to the OP. my vision went 100% BLACK for like a while, it was scary ass shit, i felt as if i was going to faint, so i leaned against the wall, and 1 min. later my vision came back.

at this point, i didn't care about etiquette, my stomach hurt so fucking bad.

i yelled out

"fuck man i have to take a fucking shit!" or something similar..

and he rushed out like within 10 seconds, saying sorry and shit, all i did was walk in red-eyed and take the best shit ever.

Ya that happened to me once. I was in history class and my bitch teacher wouldn't let me go take a shit, so i walked out. I was stoned out of my mind and i started to black out, and i couldn't see where i was going, but i eventually made it to the washroom. When the hall monitor found me he knew i was stoned but i said: "Fuck you, i got food poisoning." And then i got off easy.

sounds a bit like what happened my first few times smoking weed... very little tolerance + smoking way too much high quality weed = mindfuck...

i had a crazy pressure in my ears and they were ringing like an explosive had just gone off nearby....

but that goes away after you smoke more...

All of you people need to stop putting so much stock in to what doctors say. Just because he blew several hundred thousands of dollars does not mean he knows what the fuck he is talking about. His main goal is to get you on drugs. Period.


I think some of you secretly enjoy these "mental disorders" if they must be called as such, and you all make me fucking sick.
