Politics: Left, Right, and Center National, state, regional, and local politics. Who's doing what to whom, and what you can do about it. How-to-get-action messages are encouraged. "How the government fucked up my life" stories are encouraged. Sharing new methods for cheating on taxes is encouraged. Sample "letters to congresscritters" are encouraged. Apathy and "I can't do anything" posts are discouraged. Left, right, centrist, or any other form of political-economic systems are all up for discussion. Be prepared to defend yourself, or at least have a good line of bullshit ready. Extensive quoting of economists and philosophers is frowned upon. We want to hear what YOU have to say, not what some constipated, impotent, dead guy dreamt up while suffering from the DT's over a hundred years ago thought.

Default Obama announces his running mate

It just came on the news that Obama has picked Joe Biden for Vice President. So what does everyone think about this decision?

Probably the best choice he could have made.

I mean look at the stuff he has said:

“I’ve been calling for more troops for over two years, along with John McCain and others subsequent to my saying that.”

“My impression is [Obama] thinks that if we leave, somehow the Iraqis are going to have an epiphany” of peaceful coexistence among warring sects. “I’ve seen zero evidence of that.”

“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.

He’s a long term threat and a short term threat to our national security… “We have no choice but to eliminate the threat. This is a guy who is an extreme danger to the world.”

Saddam must be dislodged from his weapons or dislodged from power.”

Well, the point is, it turned out they didn’t, but everyone in the world thought he had them. The weapons inspectors said he had them. He catalogued — they catalogued them. This was not some, some Cheney, you know, pipe dream. This was, in fact, catalogued.”

“I don’t want [my son] going [to Iraq],” Delaware Sen. Joe Biden said from the campaign trail Wednesday, according to a report on Radio Iowa. “But I tell you what, I don’t want my grandson or my granddaughters going back in 15 years and so how we leave makes a big difference.”

“We can call it quits and withdraw from Iraq. I think that would be a gigantic mistake. Or we can set a deadline for pulling out, which I fear will only encourage our enemies to wait us out — equally a mistake.”

2: “We must be clear with the American people that we are committing to Iraq for the long haul; not just the day after, but the decade after.”

If McCain was to pick Sarah Palin, he'd have it all wrapped up here and now.

Obama is a fool, he should have gone with Clinton. Picking her as VP would unite the party, bring in more working class votes, help win swing states and add more "experience" to Obama.

She probably would have refused to do it. She doesn't want Obama to win. She will win the Dem nomination in 2012 and could very well win the Presidency then.

Even if she did do it, she couldn't be controlled in the White House, and then you would have a former President all over the news as well. Clusterfuck.

If he picked Clinton he prolly would have gotten into a bad car accident a day after being made president... (Lots of people close to the clintons disappear)

He'd have my vote on the spot if he picked her. She owns, but it's her ownage that tells me there's no chance in hell of getting it. McCain comes off as pro-Oil, based on his ridiculous ads, and Palin isn't. Some serious ass-kicking has taken place under her governship, and to be fair some of the credit belongs to the feds, but she's got some winnage that just doesn't come off as being in synch with McCain.

He made a good choice.

Chuck Hagel would have been good as well, but even this guy praised the ticket.

Obama/Biden '08!

If Clinton was my vice president, I'd be sleeping with one eye open.
