Do you get a regretful feeling when your high?
Like you always feel like your wasting your high because you think you should be doing something else?
Like right now I really wish I was eating, and not posting on totse. But if I was eating, I would wish about sharing this with you. And if I shared this with you, like I just did, then I would wish i was watching tv.

I get that on LSD really bad. I feel I am wasting it, and I should be using those feelings to learn or accomplish something epic.
I also feel dirty well, not dirty, just WRONG while watching glow stick spinning etc trippy lights etc while tripping. It's just so fucking cool it feels wrong. Like porn times a million. I just can't stop myself from looking at it, the glowsticks that is, not porn.
It's fun, but I think I will try and limit that type of behavior. I learn nothing at all on trips like that, it only makes me understand a little more WHY it is illegal. Some things are just too cool to be enjoyed by everyone. Well, thats not why it's illegal, but I can more easily rationalize it's legal status on trips such as those.

I used to feel bad about tripping and other assorted highs, because I would have to lie and say I was going to a friends when in reality i was going somewhere else to trip, and I would feel as If i were hurting my parents and damaging my potential in life.
But Now that I'm out of high school, and starting in college, and job and so forth, I don't feel like what I'm doing is hurting me, since everything for now seems to be going alright.
So as of recently , i have not felt guilty when I get high. Which is a good feeling.
Unless I do coke, i always feel bad about doing that. Because I know its a total waste.

yeah coke sucks. i've done it literally hundreds of times just cause it was there, and i've never had the urge to go find any cause it's so god damned stupid.

the only time I've felt close to the way you're describing was when I was coming down on mushrooms. I felt 'dirty' as you described it. these feelings eventually escalated into suicidal thoughts, definitely was not fun.

Well it's not exactly when I'm "high" cause I'm in pain but the doctor is getting worried that I'm going to get addicted to Vicodin that I'm prescribed. So he moved me down to 2 a day and some patches.
Every time I take 1 more than I'm supposed to I feel guilty, like I'm in pain so it helps, but I'm just worried it's not going to be filled sooner and I'm going to wait out some time with out them. Which I do have hook-ups for stuff stronger but my objective is not to get "high", just to make things livable when I'm at work. Why the fuck are doctors dickheads?
I don't think this post is overly-relevant to this thread, but it's the only regret/guit feeling I get lately having to do with a drug.

I never felt guilt or regret in the past, but now I'm out of a job and at a stand still with getting into college. I can't even enjoy being high, so I do nitrous to make my guilt seem amusing when high. Alas it's quickly fleeting...

yes i get this feeling really bad and i have an anxiety disorder.
its weird. all the time when im high, on anything, well, except opiates, i clean shit and straighten. ive never done meth, but my friends are all chilled out and im walking around picking shit up and doing stuff. i always wanna get out and leave go somewhere and it pisses them off that weed gets me so stimulated and theyre just sitting down watching tv.

I'm the same way and I also have problems with anxiety..mainly from my untreated ADHD. It's really hard for me to just sit around even when i'm stoned. I often find myself wanting to do something productive just to move around and/or keep my hands busy. If I don't feel like it I just play video games to get my mind off of it.
OP, does your mind race while you're stoned? If so that could be leading to the anxiety..regardless of how relaxed your body may feel. Racing thoughts can easily cause stress and restlessness. |
