| Games People Play Games People Play is where to discuss personal computer, video game console, and arcade hardware and software - be it RPG, Sim, Strategy, Fighting, Action/Platform, or any other category. Although discussion of modern platforms/software will most likely dominate, discussion of classic videogame/computer hardware and software is always enjoyable, and certainly welcome - ESPECIALLY since there are public domain/shareware emulators of nearly every older computer/console available these days. Here's a taste of what awaits you: Nintendo-vs-Sega-vs-Sony, Console-vs-PC-vs-Mac, Hardware spec sheets/information, Industry news and discussion, Software reviews, IRC conference announcements/Reports, Emulators, Emulators, Emulators! ... and much, much more! |

Sooner or later (PS3 exclusives)
first of all, this isn't meant to be a rub-in, or a "why the PS3 will eventually be better than..." thread (come on, we all know 360 and Wii have plenty of things on it). so no war intended. currently, the PS3 is at much lack of genuine exclusives. which is really kicking it's own self in the ass right now. it's been promised "soon" forever, now. but it's getting closer. much closer. basically...I just want to take a look at a few "reasons to buy/own a PS3" other than MGS4.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII -- quite honestly, I've been looking forward to this more from the begining than I have FFXIII for some reason. the few screenshots, details and mystery regarding the title itself as to how it will ultimately differentiate from it's lead title just tend to appeal to me more. not much is known about it; perhaps once something is, I'll lose interest...just don't know yet.
LittleBigPlanet -- yes plz. I've got a stand-alone thread dedicated to it alone somewhere around here (though there have been a few in the past couple months). I seriously cannot wait.
LA Noire -- an upcoming sandbox-styled Rockstar title. apperently you play as some sort of detective and follow a string of murders and random crimes, in a dark toned 1930's noir setting. sounds fun.
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger -- ArcSys' new upcoming title/series, which will follow as a spiritual sequel to the Guilty Gear series; and I fuckin' love Guilty Gear. this is possibly my most anticipated game at the moment.
Killzone 2 -- I'm not very familiar with the first game, and quite honestly, I'm not really looking forward to this one. while it doesn't look awefull, it doesn't look very catchy, or original either. anyone looking forward to this obviously hasn't taken a look at an FPS (or any video game, over-all) in the past five or six years. but I could be missing something...
Resistence 2 -- this one, maybe...yet another human vs alien FPS game, but aside from that, it seems quite original. I havn't played the first, but I've already got this one on my list. it seems worth a shot.
Heavy Rain -- sounded impressive. looked quite impressive, though akward. now it's back to impressive again. I'm looking forward.
God of War III -- don't ask me. havn't played the first two. I was strictly Xbox last generation. but I hear great things, and the buzz around this one is immense. sure.
Infamous -- another sandbox game. sounds good so far. we'll see sooner or later.
Valkyria Chronicles -- this game looks beautiful. I have no idea what the hell sort of game it is, or what you do in it, but again -- it looks great. we'll see about this one, too. in november.
Red Dead Revolver 2 -- another game I havn't played the first of.
MAG (Massive Action Game) -- some sort of online tacticial shooter which can have up to 256 players per match. that's a fucking shit load. I'd much rather see a game with that feature, where gameplay consists of a 4-sided viking war in a large open field, near an ocean...but this sounds alright for now. though I'm sort of skepticle as to how it will hold up, and ultimately pay off. hopefully theres a good reason to get that many people in on one match.
Team Ico's next game -- last but not least. and, of course...nothing is known about thus far. http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/ar...4103621828.jpg -- I can't wait?
have I forgotten anything?

I'm looking forward to Resistance 2. If you havn't played the first one then I suggest you try to pick it up cheap somewhere. I thought it was a good fun game.
Not much info has been released on any of the FFXIII's yet. All we have seen are some pretty visuals and about half a second of the battle system. WE NEED MORE INFORMATION SQUARE ENIX!
Little Big Plannet looks interesting and what do you think of Mirrors Edge?
Oh and, MASSIVE ACTION GAME!

Mirror's Edge is multi-console, and I mentioned MAG.
Alexander224; I honestly don't care.

The only things even REMOTELY interesting seems FF13 Versus and God of War 3.
Whats the difference between normal FF13 and Versus?

Nobody knows.
Well, one looks darker, but that was just one small scene.

Re: Sooner or later (PS3 exclusives)
Pretty underwhelming list.
The only title I'm genuinely interested in is God of War 3, but I still haven't even played the second one.
LBP seems interesting, and MAG might turn out alright, but neither are worth the price of a console to me.

Re: Sooner or later (PS3 exclusives)
Thing is, all of the games on that list that turn out to be half decent (mid-to-late-production) that aren't Sony branded will be made multi-platform, thereby, ending up on the 360 anyway.
Look at the new FF for example.
Remember tomorrow never comes and neither does 'soon'.
